Nikolay Ivanovich Proshenkov (1918-1963) served on the fronts of the WW2 from August 13, 1941. He flew I-153, Yak-1, and Bell P-39 Airacobra aircraft.
By May 1945, he had completed 375 successful combat sorties, and in 86 air battles, he personally shot down 19 enemy aircraft and, as part of a group
,4. On June 27, 1945, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
