He likes to chill to Rachmaninov
if you could erase one thing from your memory what would it be?
I’m bored and sick so I’m posting some old embark results - starting with P Sherman’s! He looks like a mal so none of this was a surprise. He was a very smart, biddable, focused dog when he was indoors. Unfortunately the city stressed him out to no end so he would be hyper vigilant and reactive outdoors.
He eventually was behaviorally euthanized after two bites. The second one should never have happened - I muzzle trained him after the first and impressed upon the next foster that the muzzle is a requirement. Both were snaps/nips but did break skin. Neither happened when he was with me 😿 - the first happened when I was on vacation and the second after another foster took over.
The shelter also gave him, a reactive anxious mal, to me as my first foster dog - I had no fostering experience at that point. 🥴
Making another pinned post:
I used to foster dogs, now I am looking at getting a service dog so this blog may focus more on that.
Other animals in my life
Helter: family dog, white, 16
Rigby: family dog, brown, 14
Picture is from when they were younger. I know everyone thinks their dogs from teenage-hood were the world’s best dogs; that also applies here. They are not long for this world they both have major health issues.
P Sherman: my longest foster, eventually behaviorally euthed after he had gone to another foster. RIP. Maybe eventually I will chronicle the saga on this blog.
Balthazar: my ball python. Normal morph. Took him in after a friend of a friend was moving to Hawaii.
P Sherman did amazing on his walk tonight! He is often overwhelmed on my (very busy) street and it translates to pulling towards various triggers but tonight he acted like he was teaching a seminar on loose leash walking!
The reason of course was that it was almost 1 am so there was no one out, but it goes to show that he is picking up the skills and we can slowly work our way towards practicing them with distractions.
He loves to be brushed
