As soon as he heard the door shut behind Spike, Chris began tugging earnestly against the chain securing him to the radiator. Some logical part of him knew it was pointless -- like Spike had said, even if he got loose there wasn’t anywhere he could go; the barrier wouldn’t exactly let him skip town -- but fear drowned out logic by a long shot. A quick scan of the bathroom showed him that anything he might have been able to use to pick the lock was gone, so brute force was really his only option. It was a damn shitty option, but Chris worked with what he had.
He wasn’t sure how long he’d been tugging and yanking against the chain when he heard the door open again, but he’d made no progress. Hearing footsteps approaching the bathroom door, he tensed. He didn’t stop pulling against the chain, and didn’t look up as the door opened. “Just let me go, man, seriously. I won’t do anything I fucking swear, I --” he turned to face the door, ready to break out his most convincing begging face, but stopped when he saw who was standing there. “Val, holy shit, you gotta help me.”
Killian walked out of the front doors of the police station downtown and a sigh passed from his lips as he stretched his arms out behind him. That had been three very long hours of his life that he would never get back. At this point, all he really wanted to do was go home and crawl back into bed. The fact that the sun hadn’t even set yet didn’t matter to him at all. But as he walked to the curb and went to reach for his helmet, a flash of glossy brown hair caught his eye from across the street. For a moment he thought it was Valencia, one of the newer wolves to the pack. When the girl turned around to pick up something she had dropped, he realized he had been wrong. After that he couldn’t get her out of his head, though. There was still a lot he didn’t know about her, but he saw a little bit of himself in the girl and that worried him. She had given them no reason to doubt her loyalty to the pack but even after 10 months of being in town she still kept herself pretty closed off and distant. He had done the exact same thing many years ago when he’d first joined the Greyson’s and, ultimately, it had made things a lot harder than they had needed to be. Now it had almost become a personal mission of his to chip away at her indifferent exterior and show her that it was okay to let someone in. So instead of getting his helmet as planned, he glanced toward the end of the street and pulled out his phone. When she answered after a few short rings, he almost grinned. “Hey, you got plans this afternoon?”
Where: Miami
What: Issa and Val drunkenly steal a boat and get themselves arrested (but first there’s a lot of drunk on stolen boat bonding)
When: Post-Bonfire
vcantania
Issa giggled, stumbling as she grabbed Val's hand, tugging her along. Grabbing a six pack of beer on their way, she half-stumbled, half-ran over to where the boats were docked. Climbing up the dock with surprising agility for how much she had drink, she turned to Val behind her "Come on!" Issa said playfully, walking along the dock until they got to the boat Val had pointed out earlier. "Anybody home?" she called out quietly, pulling out her phone to shine as a flashlight along the deck of the boat as she climbed on.
Val wasn't as drunk as Issa, but she was quickly catching up. The pair had a knack for doing dumb things while drunk, and tonight was no exception. She followed Issa's lead, climbing over and onto the boat. "Helloooo?" She peeked around and into the first window she saw. "Think anyone is here or it's here for the taking?"
"It seems pretty quiet," Issa murmured, setting down the six pack and peering into one of the windows. "Hello, helloooo," she called a little bit louder, rapping on the window. Satisfied at the silence, Issa dropped her stuff, walking around the deck of the boat and examining it a little. "This'll be a piece of cake to get out of here," she said, a sly smirk spreading across her face.
Val raised her brows at her friend. "Are you going to hot wire a boat, Is?" She reached over to the six pack, opening one for herself and one for Issa. If they were going to steal the boat, they might as well be hammered while doing it. "I never took you for one to steal boats. I think I might be a bad influence on you." She walked over to the girl, handing off the beer and watching her get to work.
"I'm not gonna hotwire it. That would be ridiculous," Issa said, rolling her eyes as she took the beer from Val. "We're gonna look to see if the keys are stashed anywhere. I know we always kept an extra set hidden on the boat. Like the aquatic version of under the doormat," she said with a shrug, beginning to look for keys around the deck of the boat, before popping inside the small boat and continuing to look around. "Success!" Issa cried as she came back out to the deck, holding keys above her head. "Wanna do the honors?" she smirked, tossing the keys at Val.
"As always." Val put the key into the ignition, starting the boat. "Want to take over? The only time I've been on a boat I've been drunk." She looked at the boats next to them in the dock, wondering if they heard what the two were up to but didn't swell on it for too long.
Issa let out a whoop of excitement as the boat started, clapping her hands together. This was maybe not the best plan she had ever had, but she knew how to drive a boat, and it's not like they'd take it far. She took another long sip of her beer, starting to laugh "So just like now?" Issa teased, taking over for Val anyway. She slowly started backing the boat up, before pulling out of where it had been docked. "Where to, darling? We have the whole ocean ahead of us!"
Val laughed and took a sip from her beer. "Exactly like now. We Californians pay people to drive the boat for them while we drink." She sat down on the small seating area next to them. They were taking a boat out for a ride and would probably end up in jail, but Val honestly didn't care. The Miami trip was pretty boring for her up until the bonfire. "Let's sail to the Bermuda Triangle! See if the rumors are true about it. Or Cuba."
Issa easily started navigating the boat out, knowing they'd actually probably only go out like 100 yards and then just sit, but pretending to seriously consider Val's suggestion anyway. "I think it's illegal to sail to Cuba. Or it used to be. Or maybe that's just for illegal immigrants. And I also really don't want disappear in the Bermuda Triangle. Let's just go to Cancun or something," she suggested, thoroughly enjoying her and Val's ridiculousness. She hadn't done anything this dumb or illegal in way too long.
Val swung her legs up onto the seats she was on. "I think we're allowed to sail there now. I can't remember which," She took a few more sips before continuing. "Cancun sounds better than the Bermuda Triangle, but which one is further? Would we even make it that far before getting caught?" She looked back at the bonfire, thanking that they were sailing away from it. "Even if we get caught, at least we aren't sitting down waiting to get caught like everyone else."
"Let's just see where the water takes us," Issa said with a shrug, picking up the beer she had opened again and taking another swig of it. "So, Val. It has been far too long since we have been this drunk together and doing something this stupid," Issa commented, looking over at the other girl. "I'm glad we have returned to prime form."
Val nodded at her friend. The last time they had done something stupid was when they planted the evidence from their Omega raid at the Lambda house. "It seems like we're back to normal. We need to do this more often because I miss doing stupid things with you." She was silently thanking the water for being calm so she wouldn't boot over the side of the boat.
"How sad is it that our 'normal' involves stealing shit? At least we never got caught for the Omega and Lambda shit," Issa said with a shrug, going to take another sip of her beer before realizing it was empty. When did that happen. "Okay, new rule. We have to do something dumb together at least like...once a week," she suggested, raising an eyebrow at Val.
Val couldn't help but laugh at Issa's statement. "I still have that trophy hiding in my closet. One day the truth will come out but that day is not today." She tossed a beer at the girl before finishing her own and opening another. They were going to finish that six pack before they could actually enjoy it. "Deal. Once we get back we should raid another house. What I would give to sneak into Kappa house dads room." She placed a hand over her heart and laughed at her own dramatics.
"As do I. I've had to be careful the times James has come over, because let's be real - if he found it he would be totally livid," Issa said with a laugh, shaking her head, completely forgetting for a moment that Val and James used to hook up too. She caught the beer Val tossed at her, gladly opening it and taking another sip. "Deal. We'll get you into his room if it's the last thing we do," she said, laughing at Val.
"Oh, my God. He'd throw a fit and report back to Scotty if he found it." Val widened her eyes and laughed. She didn't spend much time with the Omegas these days so she didn't worry too much about anybody seeing it besides Reagan. "And we'll get you into Omega house dads room one of these days too." She pointed at her then took another sip.
"Eep. I could distract him until he forgot about it. But it's fully stashed away. And besides - we did Scotty a favor. He was SO hot those few days with the messy, man bun hair. Seriously. I would've hooked up with him again so fast," Issa admitted, playfully fanning herself. "I don't even know what I'd do in Mr Omega's room. Die, probably," she said, covering her face for a moment. "Oh my god, just thinking about it..."
"Rumor has it he might be bringing the bun back. Insider info that only yours truly knows." Val knew that Issa would enjoy hearing that. "I would have to drag you out of there before someone saw you. But, I'm pretty sure you'd be kicking and screaming the whole way out, right?"
"No. If he brings the man bun back, I am done, my friend. I literally can't handle it," Issa said, embarrassingly squealing a little. Whatever, she was drunk. She pulled another few sips from her bottle of beer, thinking about the Omega house dad. "I think I'd be dead, so there'd actually be no resistance at all. Like, I would literally die."
"Oh, he's bringing it back. I think he liked the freedom of having long hair instead of a quiff." Val laughed at the sound Issa made. Maybe she just didn't understand the whole obsession with the man bun. "Maybe I'll just throw you on his bed and call it a day. Leave you there to be found by Omega house dad." She took a few sips from her can, eventually setting it down so she could lounge out.
"Praise the lord. He better be prepared for my obsession," Issa said, holding her hands up like she was praying. She was all about the man bun. Not just Scotty's, but everyone's - though his was particularly nice. "Ugh. Do you think he sleeps naked? I would get all snuggled right up in there," she said with a laugh, following Val's lead and setting down the beer, still letting the boat go rather slowly.
"You and the man bun. I wouldn't be surprised if you had a shrine to the man bun in your room somewhere." Val sat up to take another few sips then laid back down. The rocking of the boat was almost enough to put her asleep, but she knew that she had to stay awake in order to walk back to the beach house. "Oh, my God. If he does sleep naked and you manage to get in that room, please take pictures and share them with me."
"I do not have a shrine to the man bun. Though I could easily start a shrine to Omega with that trophy," Issa said, thinking about it for a moment. She kicked up her feet onto the wheel, leaning back and starting to steer with just her feet. "I would just do pretty much anything to get him naked. He's so much hotter than anyone I've slept with."
"Do not start an Omega shrine. We don't need their egos to inflate anymore than they already are." Val shook her head at the thought. The shrine would be filled with hair gel and condoms. "He definitely the hottest Omega. Especially when he's all scruffy."
"Right. No Omega shrine. Someone should make a Val and Issa shrine, though," Issa said with a laugh, elbowing Val in the side. "I mean, he's hot but - woah, I'm gonna say something right now that you are NOT allowed to repeat, okay? Recently I've been more...partial to James. Is that weird?"
Val reacted to Issa's elbow before sitting up. "I would not say no to a Val and Issa shrine. The Valissa Shrine." She waved her hands out in front of her face before continuing. "Your secret is safe with me. Ooh, crushing on James?" She leaned forward so she could see Issa more clearly in the dark.
"It has a nice ring to it," Issa said, giggling with Val, before sitting up as well, paying attention to where they were going again. "It's not really a crush, per say - I mean...yeah. I guess I might. But it's James, so it won't last," she said with a shrug, totally downplaying it. "What about you, V? How's your love life?"
"Issa, you totally have a crush on him!" Val clapped her hands together, knowing that it was a big thing for her friend. "Do you think he has a crush on you too? Want me to drag the details out of him?" She smiled even though Issa probably couldn't see her. If she was happy with James, Val was happy for her. "Well, there's Harrison. I don't know what we are per say, but we kissed and he makes me happy."
"I mean, I'm also kinda seeing Grady. So there's that. And there are a couple other boys I wouldn't mind doing other things with, so it's not like I'm looking to like date him or anything. But he is one of my best friends," she said with another shrug, taking another long sip of her beer, needing the additional alcohol to talk about this. "Harrison? You guys kissed?" Issa squealed again, reaching over and shaking Val a little. "Tell me more."
"Wait a minute - you're seeing Grady too?" Val followed her lead and finished what was left of her beer. She hadn't had a heart to heart with Issa like this in a long time, and clearly there was a lot she had missed out on. "I mean, yeah. We kissed." She stopped so she could laugh at how excited she was to talk about it. "I'm sure you saw the GG blast about it, Is. You know me, I don't date. But I like having him around."
"I mean, we've gone on a couple dates, kissed a few times. Earlier tonight he basically rejected me because he didn't want to take advantage," Issa said, rolling her eyes. "Don't get me wrong - I love the Southern gent thing, but like - not when I'm drunk and want someone to hook up with me," she complained. "I saw it but how am I supposed to know it's actually true? I mean - a guy you like having around and like kissing? That sounds promising," she pointed out, turning to look at Val. "As fun as this is, should we get the boat back soon? Before anyone notices we borrowed it?"
"Is that were James comes in?" Val raised her brow at Issa. She wasn't judging her, simply hoping that she didn't get caught in some love triangle between the two rival houses. "Hey - the 'R' word has not been mentioned yet and I'm happy with that." She nodded, pulling her phone out to check the time. "Let's get back before our plane back to school leaves. I'm pretty sure we need to get all our shit together still."
"What?" Issa asked innocently, grinning at Val. "I mean, James and I have always been friends, even through the whole Ginny thing. And we've been sleeping together like...basically since they broke up. Whoops," she said, widening her eyes a little, realizing what a shitty friend that made her sound like. "Right. No relationship talk. I mean, same, so I'm in a good place." Issa turned the boat around, kicking up the speed a notch to get them back to the dock.
Val playfully rolled her eyes at Issa. "Damn, you've been sleeping together that long?" She wanted to high five her, but decided against it simply because she needed to get the boat back as soon as possible. "We're both happy. Isn't that what matters?" She began to collect the empty cans they left around the small area as Issa neared them to the dock.
"Um. Maybe? Not like consistently but...yeah," she said with a shrug, handing one of the cans back to Val as she also steered the boat back towards the dock where it belonged. "Exactly! Who gives a fuck about labels and shit?" Issa exclaimed, getting closer to the dock. Suddenly, Issa noticed 3 men standing on the dock where the boat belonged, one holding a large flashlight and sweeping it around. "Um. Val?"
"Labels just ruin everything. Why can't people just be happy with each other and not have to worry about a label?" Val looked up from the cans she was gathering to see what Issa was looking at. "Houston, we have a problem." It was just their luck that people would be sweeping the dock for the boat that they were on.
"I mean, if you don't label it you have to worry about them sleeping with other people and if that's kosher and like, whatever. Boys are just complicated. That's why I like having multiple," Issa said with a snort. They got closer to the dock, and it became clear that the people weren't moving - definitely looking for this boat. "Fuck, fuck, fuck, what do we do?"
"Boys are way more complicated than girls are so I don't know what they're talking about." Val laughed before getting serious about the situation at hand. "Fuck. First, let's get rid of the cans because driving a boat while intoxicated is probably illegal." She looked for a trash can somewhere on the deck. "Now we need a cover story. Uh, I don't even know what we could say. Fuck."
"Hide them down below," Issa hissed, indicating towards the door. "Yeah, driving a boat intoxicated is probably illegal but so is STEALING," she said, slowing the boat down so they'd have more time. "Cover story? What is even fucking plausible? Sorry, I thought this was mine?"
Val quickly made her way to the door and below the top deck to hide the evidence. When she got back to the top deck she realized that they were closer to the dock than she was comfortable with. "I don't know, Issa. I didn't expect to get fucking caught." She ran a hand through her hair. "Should we just own up to it. Like sorry we're dumbass college kids."
"We weren't even gone that long," Issa whined, well aware that they were about to be within the men's earshot. "Fuck. I think we have to. There's no way to charm our way out of this by lying - own up to it and apologize like fucking crazy?" Issa said, looking at Val for confirmation before they ran out of time to talk without them hearing it, about to pull the boat into the dock.
Val nodded at Issa before she docked the boat. The one man was shining the flashlight right at them, blinding her for a few seconds. She reached over and grabbed Issa's hand; at least they had each other.
Issa docked the boat, gulping in the sudden silence as she turned off the engine, letting Val grab her hand. The two girls slowly walked to the edge of the boat, one of the men already silently grabbing the rope to tie the boat. Issa climbed off the boat, gulping slightly as one of the men lifted his flashlight again, shining it at the two girls.
Val followed behind Issa, avoiding all and any eye contact with the men. As much as she wanted to make some sarcastic comment, she bit her tongue before she got them into even more trouble. She didn't say much of anything as two of the men started inspecting the boat for something, all she did was look at the ground.
Issa fell silent, almost debating if they should just quickly try to make their way off the dock as two of the men started looking at the boat. The third eyed them up and down before pulling out a police badge and flashing it at them. "You two are under arrest for the theft of this boat," he said, before launching into reading their rights, not even giving the two a chance to say anything. Issa looked at Val, utterly terrified and having no idea what to do.
Despite it being a weekday, running into Val drinking was exactly what Issa needed. She was easily one of her closest friends, and drinking with her always ended up with them doing something stupid, yet having the most fun. Issa dropped down into a chair, making herself comfortable while Val made drinks. “Tell me about your life, Val. We’ve been too busy scheming to actually talk about ourselves,” she said as the other girl handed her her drink, taking a sip of it to punctuate her sentence.
What: Val and Issa team up to steal some essentials from Omega
When: post-Dobbler’s Dollar Shot Night
Notes: yes. i gave them a shipname. deal with it.
Val had left in the middle of the boys performing at Dobbler's so her and Issa could sneak into the Omega house. She had snuck past the gate and was waiting by the window into the kitchen for Issa.
Issa waited after Val left for a few minutes, not wanting to cause any suspicion by the two of them sneaking out together. She quickly found her way to Omega, sneaking through the bushes until she found Val by the aforementioned always unlocked kitchen window. "Sure you're ready for this?" she greeted the girl with a wide grin.
Val grinned back at her friend. "Have I ever not been ready? I think they're all passed out in the rooms already." She reached over the bushes to see if the screen would pop off as easily as usual, and much to their luck it did. Without waiting any longer, she pushed the window up until it was wide enough for to fit through. "Ladies first," she motioned for Issa to go first.
"Give me a boost?" Issa said, waiting for Val to help her up. Once she did, Issa pulled herself through the window, landing quietly in the Omega kitchen. She waited for a moment to make sure no one was coming before turning around and reaching to help Val in. "Okay. So the trophies are all in the living room in the display case. Which is unlocked. I say we just take last years...But we should probably go for the upstairs bathrooms first, shouldn't we?"
Val looked around the kitchen, looking for the cats that would be lurking about somewhere. "We're gonna need something to carry the hair products with. Should we grab two trophies and grab everything?" She made her way towards the living room to find the trophy case.
"Using the trophies to carry the hair products. Genius!" Issa said with a laugh, following the familiar path into the living room. "Dibs," she murmured, slowly creaking open the door and taking Omega's most recent trophy. "Boy, are they going to miss this one."
"Fine fine, take the new one." Val gave Issa a light shove then picked up the trophy from the year before. "Should we put lipstick marks all over it so it's not shiny anymore?" She eyed the trophy in her hands.
"It was my idea!" Issa said with a laugh, sticking her tongue out at Val. "Maybe just leave lipstick marks in their place?" she murmured, raising an eyebrow slowly, unable to stop the laugh the escaped her lips.
"But won't they know it was us? We have to pretend it was one of the frats." Val bite her lip trying to figure out who to blame it on. "Should we do Lambda since Dax and Scotty want to kill each other right now?"
"Shit. You're right. Ugh. I want to take credit for this so badly though," Issa said with a sigh. "If we leave nothing, you know they're going to assume Lambda anyways....and then when it gets back to us, we can deny blaming it on anyone. Right?"
"We could deny doing it at all. If anyone says they saw the trophies in either house, we can say that they asked us to do it. Why bother taking any blame?" Val raised her eyebrows at Issa. If they could pull this off it would be the greatest prank of the century.
"Because taking credit's half the fun!" she said, her eyebrows furrowing a bit as she considered Val's statement. "How exactly are we planning on blaming Lambda, though? And it would have to be Lambda, because we both know Kappa doesn't have the balls," Issa mused.
"Well, they're going to assume it's Lambda, right?" Val looked around the room as if some idea would jump out at her. "Maybe we send in a few tips to Gossip Girl, talk about how we've seen them in the rooms, and one day when no one is home we sneak them in."
“They'll definitely assume it's Lambda. They would never think it was a sorority, the misogynistic assholes...." she paused, her eyes narrowing for a moment. "We tell gossip girl we saw a lambda sneaking out....you're a genius. Literally, a genius. And no sneaking this anywhere, I want to keep it forever," she said, clutching the trophy to her chest.
"Thank you, thank you. The genius in disguise at your service." Val bowed and laughed. "If you're keeping yours, I'm keeping mine! We can put all the hair stuff on the Lambda porch and that could be the evidence against them." She grinned and started to move towards the bathroom on the first floor to see what they could find in there.
"It's why I keep you around," Issa said, reaching out and messing up Val's hair playfully. "Okay, we both keep the trophys! It's only fair," she said, following Val towards the first floor bathroom. "You know Scotty wouldn't trust his beloved quiff products down here."
"We save the best for last, of course. He has his own bathroom upstairs." Val wiggled her brows as they snuck through the house. The first bathroom was right around the corner so it didn't take them long to find the door and see what was behind it.
"We better start moving quicker," Issa said with a snort as the two girls reached the downstairs bathroom, swinging open the door. Issa went for the cabinet behind the mirror, only finding a bottle of cologne that was worth taking. "Find anything?" Issa said, turning to Val and holding up the bottle for her approval.
Val headed straight to the shower to see what goodies she could find. Finally grabbing some Crew hair putty to throw into her trophy. "Just some hair putty. Should we go to James' bathroom?
"Does James even have anything other than like...condoms and mirror to look at himself with?" Issa said with a snort, rolling her eyes. "But yeah. Let's go. Should one of us take James' and the other take Scotty's?" Issa proposed as they started tiptoeing up the stairs.
"He might have some gel? Or expensive shampoo?" Val tapped her chin and thought about it. "Do you want to take Scotty's? I can take James' since they're right next to each other."
"Oh, yes. Undoubtably the most expensive shampoo there is," Issa laughed, rolling her eyes thinking about it. "Scotty's it is. Divide and conquer. Meet back here in 5 minutes, tops," she said, pointing at Val playfully before heading off into Scotty's bathroom, still lugging the trophy with her.
Val laughed as he headed into James' room, hearing his snores echo off the walls. She searched through the darkness for the door and went to work as fast as she could. The trophy was getting heavy, but that didn't stop her from throwing in his shampoo and conditioner when she saw them. Sneaking back out, she looked down the hall to see if Issa was finished in Scotty's room but hurried towards the stairs when she heard someone moving behind her.
Issa tiptoed through Scotty's room, knowing he was still at the bar belting out some karaoke, but also knowing that could change any minute. She rifled through his cabinets, letting out a little exclamation when she found a bottle of hair gel. Issa still bent down to look through the drawers, because there was no way Scotty didn't have a backup. Satisfied she had gotten everything, Issa started creeping back out through the room when she heard footsteps in the hallway. "Fuck," she breathed, flattening herself against the wall and peeking out to see one of the brother's walking down the hall.
Val snuck down the stairs and waited for Issa as she crouched behind the couch. She didn't think anyone was awake, but she could never be too careful. "Issa? Are you there?" She whispered to the darkness around her.
The brother disappeared into a door, and Issa took the chance, bolting going as quickly as she could while still being quiet downstairs - hoping Val had gone down there. "Val?" she hissed, retracing their steps back into the living room.
"Is, I'm over here!" Val waved before remembering that she probably couldn't see her. They were beginning to test their luck while in the house, but Val had one more place she wanted to check. "They have a pantry, but with hair stuff in it. I've seen it. We have to get into it before we leave!"
"Holy shit that was close," Issa let out, ducking behind the couch with Val as she started to laugh. "Wooah, my heart is racing. But yes. The mission won't be complete until we raid that too."
"Is this the most fun a Zeta has ever had?" Val laughed along with her before getting up to find the door she was looking for. "It's down here somewhere, I think by the pool room."
"Oh, shut it. Not all Zeta's are boring," Issa teased, sticking her tongue out at Val even though she could hardly see the other girl in the dark. Issa followed Val until she swung open the right door, Issa pulling out her phone flashlight and swinging it around. "Wow. These boys are more concerned about their hair than I am."
Val nodded at her friend. "It's actually a bit weird.." She turned to her right to see what was on the wall, squinting to read the labels. If they didn't break into the house, she would've flicked the light switch. But they were on a mission and they needed to finish it now.
"I say we just start grabbing and not bothering to figure out what it is?" Issa suggested, slightly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of product. She didn't want them to get caught, and her close encounter upstairs made her feel like they didn't have that much more time. Figuring out what to take strategically would take way too long.
"You're right. Don't think, just do." Val started to throw any and all bottles into the trophy, assuming her adrenaline would help her carry it all the way back to the house. Hearing a noise down the hall, Val turned to Issa with a paranoid look on her face. "Shit. Let's get out of here before they actually catch us."
Issa kept grabbing until her trophy was full, giggling as her and Val started sneaking out. "Eek. Run!" Issa said, the two girls taking off down the hallway back into the kitchen. "Jump out and I'll lower the trophies to you?" Issa said, not having thought of how to get out. She was peeking over her shoulder, paranoid someone would walk in any second.
Val nodded and climbed over and out the window, waiting for the trophies from the other girl. When she finally handed them to her, she reached her hands into the window to help her out. "Come on, before someone sees you!" Val couldn't help the laughter that was escaping her mouth.
"I'm trying, I'm trying!" Issa said, the words punctuated with giggles as she went to climb out of the window after handing over the trophies. She hit the ground, holding her arms up like she was Rocky and she had just run up the steps of the PMA, unable to stop laughing. Suddenly the lights flickered on in the Omega kitchen, the girls falling silent immediately, Issa looking at Val with wide eyes.
Val looked back and forth between the window and Issa, mouthing the word 'Down' to her. The bushes were big enough to keep them out of site, but that didn't stop Val from flattening herself as much as she could against them.
Issa jumped back into the bushes, dropping down beside Val as she tried to make herself as small as possible. Now that they were outside, the idea of getting caught seemed comical, and Issa flattened her hand against her mouth, trying to hold in laughter while they waited for whoever was in the kitchen to leave.
Val followed suit and placed a hand over her mouth. No way was she getting caught this late in the game. Listening to the sounds coming out of the window, Val could hear the brother talking to one of the cats and leaving. A sigh of relief left her and she turned to Issa. "Let's get the fuck out of here."
"Mission accomplished," Issa said slyly, holding her hand out for Val to high five as she picked up the trophy, balancing it on her hip as th two girls started sneaking off.
After her last class of the day, Lexa hurried to the campus coffee shop, excited to play catch up with Val. It seemed like the pledge had been gone far too long. Ordering herself a coffee, Lexa glanced around the seating area, but it seemed Val had yet to arrive. The blonde slid off her light jacket, heading over to an open set of armchairs when she received her coffee and curling into it, making herself comfortable. She grabbed one of her textbooks, flipping to the chapter her class was on and beginning ro read it while waiting for Val.
Walking down the street in the direction Val had started walking in after the petite blonde had changed into some normal clothes, Lily felt somewhat happy to have met someone who was willing to help her make tea, as it wasn't something she expected a stranger to do, which had Lilian a bit suspicious of the girl, but her instincts over spoke her hesitance to making new friends, telling her that the girl was no more harmful to her than Freddie was.
Lily wasn't often one to strike up a conversation. At least, not with someone other than the members of the scooby gang, and they were just three in the gang. It was weird; Lily was quiet, always had, and probably always will. But she didn't like this silence, which was slowly turning into an awkward one and she wished the other blonde would say something.
