Business Plans || James & Inola

The sounds of hammering and mens voices filled the air as Inola stepped out of the hotel. It was a cool morning, as it usually was this time of year, and a smile blossomed on her face. As nice as San Francisco had been she was glad to be home, especially at a time when the future was ripe for those ready to take it. Having arrived a two days earlier she was glad that Menewa was on another part of the island. She was sure he was going to ask questions, and with those questions would come answers he wouldn't want to hear and that would lead to a fight. Though she was ok with fighting, for she had learned long ago not to back down, she had more important things to take care of. The first meeting she needed to have was what would set the stage for her career and her place on this island. Stepping down she headed over the small house where Mr. James Delaney lived, or was currently living until his house was complete. Knocking gently at the door she smiled warmly at the young boy who answered. Speaking in her native tongue she greeted him warmly, following to a small office where James sat. Inola smiled warmly at the man who she hadn't seen in years, in fact she was quite a little girl back then.
"Welcome home to Nootka," she said with a smile, noticing how life had not been kind to James. There was a scar over his left eye now, and those same blue eyes were cold. Despite the smile he gave her she could see the pain there. Though Menewa would not be happy to know Inola had become quite the read of people, especially men and James was hurting. "It's been a long time, but you are finally home." Taking in his warm embrace she squeezed his hand. "The house is coming along nicely, of course not as nice as your hotel, which I've had the pleasure of staying in." Raising a hand she stopped him before he could ask why she hadn't gone home. "I came with some friends, and they wouldn't want to stay on tribal land." Sitting down in a chair across from the desk she fixed her skirts. "I came here to see you of course, but I also came to speak about business, and considering Menewa probably won't like this business the sooner I get your blessing the better, and I hope I can get that." Smiling warmly once again she licked her lips, remembering her childhood crush on the man in front of her.
