#869 - Lysinema ciliatum - Curry Flower
Another Ericaceae, another SW WA endemic.
Like so many of our native plants, tolerant of drought. The flowers may be white, brown, cream or pink. One webpage claims the distinctive curry scent of the flower comes from mycorrhizal associates, and while that isn’t impossible, isn’t mentioned anywhere else that I’ve found.
Hammond Park, Perth. The bush-covered sandhill where I found it has been bulldozed into a flat housing subdivision. Sigh.
