as a teenager, I agreed with everyone telling Roy not to kill Envy. but as an adult, I empathize so much more with Roy 😭 I know it wouldn't bring Hughes back, but 😭😭😭😭

i know i never post anymore, but i just watched c&t episode 18 and i’m...not too happy with it.

totally ignoring the way the animation quality has steadily dipped since the american idol segment, and the way the plot has had a surprising amount of filler for a show that really doesn’t have the time for filler, i took issue with the latter half of episode 18. it felt very dramatic to me for no reason.

tuesday developed a small crush on the reporter who looks like nickelback in a very short amount of time. that’s normal, sure, but the weather center explosion felt very much to me like a cheap plot trick to serve as a bonding experience for tuesday and the reporter under dangerous circumstances. then she bought him a present, but when she went to deliver it, she saw him kissing a woman he was on a date with, prompting her to go on an emo walk around the city and then bursting into tears when carole came to look for her. maybe i’m not straight enough to understand that dramatic reaction lolol? or maybe i’m too depressed to fathom crying my eyes out over a 3-day-long crush going awry? 

i won’t be shy about saying that i ship tuesday and carole. that said, i don’t think they have to end up together, and i think it’s perfectly plausible for them to only see each other as friends. however, while i am okay with carole and tuesday staying friends, i’m less okay with the show making both (or one) of them straight after heavily implying for the entirety of the show that they have a deep soulmate-like connection with each other. 

make no mistake--soulmates can be platonic, but given that carole and tuesday have both not expressed any interest in romance whatsoever up until this point, i think the only romance that would feel believable in this show is them realizing that love was in front of them all along. 

(note: it’s still possible that tuesday is bi, and as a bi person myself, i am definitely keeping that possibility in my mind! however, bisexuality is even more uncommon than homosexuality in anime, which is why i am a bit more skeptical of that happening. c&t does have at least one bi character though--gus’s ex-wife--so it doesn’t seem like bi erasure is as much of an issue in c&t!)

happy new year, everyone!! wishing all of you a better year for relationships, physical and mental health, and overall well-being. it's okay if it's not a perfect year; as long as it's better than the previous year, it's a step in the right direction. ❤❤❤
