It's kinda funny how every persona game in the trilogy has exactly one playable male character who is the designated survivor of the misogyny beam.

In P3, every guy commits a sex crime against the girls via the hot spring except for Ken and Shinji, simply because they were not present. But they had plenty of other opportunity to do some misogyny and they did not, so congrats to them. Still, I only count Ken because Shinji can't exactly be called a 'survivor'. Atlus really said there can only be one dude who is decent and lives.

In P4, every guy harasses the girls at some point except Kanji who minds his own business when he has a crush. Good for him.

In P5, every male phantom thief harasses, ogles at, or coerces the girls into some degree of nudity except for Akechi. It's frying me how there's a literal man versus bear situation going on in the Phantom Thieves. Yeah let's make the assassin the only boy who isn't sexist, why not. He might kill you but he won't assault you. If anything, his hit list skews heavily male, so women are statistically safer with him than men are, and three of his confirmed kills were canonically sexist (Kobayakawa, SIU director, Okumura). The decision to make him exclusively obsessed with Joker spared him from the misogyny beam. It's crazy how P5 would have ZERO surviving non-misogynist male party members if not for Royal and the True Ending.

Between Shinji and Akechi, you have a higher chance of dying if you're NOT sexist in a persona game. Welcome to Atlus, where boys who treat women like normal people are narratively punished more than the ones who harass them. The jokes write themselves.

Can't wait for P6 to release so we can play guess-who for the one male character that doesn't degrade women (we are in hell)

One thing it's on my mind now, did Makoto knew Yukari was related to the person responsible for his parents death from the beginning? Cause now that I think about it there is a huge possibility he did after learning her name.

Considering how Yukari talks that she and her mom had to move many times and even moved to kyoto due to people being very mean to them this kinda shows the information of who they were was public, and very possible he heard people around him talking about Yukari's dad.

And then when he wakes up after awakening his persona she doesn't give many details but she says her father worked for the kirijo group and he was the chief researcher, his name was probably all over the news. Even if Makoto was a kid it's very possible he researched or just listened someone saying something. So he could have put 1 and 1 together.

Same way, Yukari says she knows his story. In the movies mitsuru handles his file to Yukari and she learns it from there. But it's very possible Yukari already knew a boy lost his family from the news, even if she doesn't it would still hit her learning his past.

So imagine how it was for her listening many times her father was the one responsible for what happened, then she meets this boy who lost his family because of her father's actions and then she sees him sleeping through a whole week because of her inaction. No wonder she just starts talking to him the moment he wakes up.

Now imagine Yakushima beach scene. Where everyone learns that he was responsible for releasing the shadows. How Makoto felt there learning this? And yet still comforts Yukari. Like he may have already come to terms with his loss, but considering his situation he could have handled everything very differently, and yet he tells Yukari to continue believing in her father, even when all evidence points otherwise.

Their stories are tied in such a way that they are on both sides of the incident, and they parallel each other.

I wanna talk about the Joker boss fight in P3R Episode Aigis and the shuake crumbs in it (hear me out)

There wasn't an official explanation for why he's in the Abyss of Time. Metis just says that someone in SEES could have wished for him, but that isn't 'canon' because Aigis' optional dialogue can either confirm, deny, or joke it off. Metis also says this theory might be wrong.

Then Metis says another possibility is some other person outside of SEES wished for him. This is implied to be the real reason, since it's the last thing said in the conversation and there is also no optional dialogue for the player to deny it.

Wishes and desires are a big part of Persona 5 Royal, but through the entirety of the game the only person who wishes for Joker is Akechi. As confirmed by the writers, they were each other's mutual wish. If anyone's desire for Joker to be around is strong enough to connect with the Abyss, it is definitely Akechi.

So I headcanon that the Abyss, where time flows differently, granted Joker access because of Akechi's wish permeating through it. That's why Joker was traversing the place. It allowed him to revisit their memories together, letting him see Akechi again from behind a door or even spend more time with him.

Maybe that's why he was so pissed and went full "PERSONA RAVAGE THEM" on SEES, they were disturbing his boyfriend date hours smh

Shuake and Jundori are basically the same ship

List of similarities between Joker/Akechi and Junpei/Chidori:

Ship is between a chill guy and an assassin

Characters share the same persona affinity (Arsene and Loki both use curse, Hermes and Medea both use fire)

Assassin's outfit colors are mainly white and red (specifically akechi's robin hood outfit)

Assassin's persona may hurt them (Loki has call of chaos and Medea attacks Chidori)

Assassin deceives the chill guy into thinking they're normal to get info on the group he's part of

Assassin betrays and kidnaps the chill guy + separates him from his friend group because he's the leader (Junpei was lying about being the leader but Chidori believed it)

Friend group is only cordial with the assassin at best but doesn't wish harm on them

Chill guy is the only one who truly connects with the assassin

Assassin insists they dont care about the chill guy but deep down they do

While responsible for their own actions, the assassin is still being manipulated by someone close to them

Revealed that the assassin's abilities were being exploited by the families of both games' wealthy Empress Arcana (Okumura used Akechi via Shido to assassinate enemies, Kirijo group used Chidori as a child experiment)

In late November, the assassin has a 1-vs-many fight against the chill guy and his friends

After you beat the assassin, the ones manipulating them appear and reveal they're willing to discard the assassin for being weak

The manipulators threaten to shoot the chill guy instead

Assassin sacrifices themself for the chill guy during the shooting

Chill guy's greatest wish was to be with the assassin and losing them challenges their resolve to fight (Joker may or may not fold on 2/2 but Junpei gets his resolve back as part of the plot)

14. Chill guy and assassin have a special attack (showtime and theurgy)

15. Assassin died permanently in the original version of the games, but they can be saved in future remakes (if you spent enough time with them and made the right choices in-game)
