I like to think that after the end of the manga, Ranma and akane are much more open to showing affection (when they are alone) while still not saying they love each other. Their love game would probably continue until their graduation, but at that point they admitting in words they like each other would probably be a formality.

In a modern AU I can totally see Ranma playing horror games just so akane can watch. He finds them ok, but mainly plays them for akane. And maybe at first she thinks he just really enjoys horror games.

Maybe akane is not used to playing games so he is also teaching her how to play. But she still likes watching him play and she finds amusing how, even if he won't admit it, he gets scared at some parts.

It's so sad when i notice a fandom doesn't have any of the very specific fanfics I think about already ready to read. Like what you mean no other person has thought that this very specific combination of niche interests I have would work perfectly with this story and no one wrote it yet. i don't know how i just forget how buff Ranma is. Maybe because he is usually with long sleeved clothes so it doesnt show that much like here, just a guy.

then later in in the manga, we have this. Look how thick that arm is, no wonder the old anime loved to make akane hold on his arm.

which makes me think about this scene, akane was completely trapped there, she for sure felt a strong grip.

This is probably my favorite Ranma Collab art cause it fits them so much.

Both kitsunes and tanukis are tricksters which fits their personalities. Ranma using tricks as part of his strategies to win and his playful nature in general, and Akane is also very playful towards Ranma using tricks of her own on him, helps in Ranma's tricks and even try to trick her enemies.

While both are tricksters there is a big difference too, tanukis are usually seen in a more positive light being more helpful to others. While kitsunes are seen as more mean, that also reflects them well, Akane is always up to help others(even when it goes against what she wants) her tricks are either to help others, get herself or Ranma out of trouble or just to play with Ranma. while Ranma can be very mean and even if sometimes he regrets his actions, other times he feels justified in doing them.

Also a funny point is both are shape shifters, and kitsunes are especially known to shapeshift into beautiful women to trick man, and Ranma does that a lot with his curse. This point doesn't show too much with akane as she isn't a literal shapeshifter like Ranma but I think it can be stretched to how she doesn't think twice before putting on a disguise to help ( like the cheerleading arc).

Also it's fun to note how kitsunes are known for their marriage stories, either by deceiving people or actually caring about their partners, and I think tanukis also have similar tales. Tanukis are known to live in families.

Foxes are solitary animals it also fits Ranma as before going to live with the Tendo's he was never really able to create any meaningful connections with others.

It might be just coincidental and I am just over analyzing but the choices sure fit them a lot. They both being known trickster youkais also helps in showing how perfect they are for each other.

Everytime I see anything about that one scene from Zootopia 2 that Nick is talking to Judy about how he has trouble expressing himself and how he prefer to make jokes about her than to tell she was the best thing that ever happened to him, I can only think how that could fit Ranma and Akane. like really, a comic or animatic based on that whole scene would be perfect.

Have been into ranma 1/2 these days watching the remake so have been thinking of some AUs that would be fun ideas to write.

Youkai AU

Based on the official art of akane as a tanuki and Ranma as a kitsune. Ranma is a fox youkai that lives in the mountains and has to constantly fight to survive.

Until his father tells him about an arranged marriage with the daughter of an old friend. Then he learns that he is to marry a half youkai tanuki girl, and that he will live with her family for a while having to learn how to live among humans.

Bodyguard AU

Akane being a celebrity or model and Ranma being hired to be akane's bodyguard and she is surprised to learn he has a weird curse. And things just get weirder.

Knight AU

Akane is a princess known to be as skilled as a knight at fighting, Ranma is her old childhood friend who is the most skilled knight in her kingdom. but since a certain mission he has been distant from her. However circumstances makes him be appointed to be her personal guard after akane's life is threatened and akane takes the chance to get closer to him again.

Youkai heritage AU

Many times Ranma just seem to go above what a human can do. What if the reason for that is him having dormant youkai blood that has finally awaken. And now he needs to figure out how to deal with this.

Werecat AU

Ranma has a terrible secret. He transforms into a monster having no control over his actions and remembering nothing afterwards. All he is sure is that he will attack people without a second thought. So when he wakes up next to a girl who seem completely unharmed he is confused.

Cursed AU

Akane is cursed to transform into a werewolf under certain conditions and she is having a hard time dealing with it. Ranma is decided to be there for her.

watching some videos on youtube about drawing and one thing i always hate is when people talk about making drawing a habit...my dude i dont get habits, i need to consciously tell myself everything i need to do, i dont do things automatically. i need to remember i need to wash my teeth everyday and it has been more than 30 years of this. i will not wake up one day and start drawing at a set time just because i have been doing that for a few days, i need to remember i have to do it and actually tell myself to do it.
