Circa 2007, Justin Meldal-Johnsen mentioned that Nigel uses a Yamaha P3500S power amplifier to power his Acoustic Energy AE1 Classics (passive monitors):
Funny, Nigel Godrich uses a widely and currently available Yamaha P3500S PA amplifier to power his AE1's, and thinks it's fine. Other guys in our clique that use those speakers have either a Mastering Lab modified Yamaha P2200, or a McIntosh MC2105. Lots of different opinions on what sounds best.
