patching up erina

erina is quite a reckless fighter! her priority isn't staying unharmed, but making sure nobody else is getting hurt!

if someone is in danger, she'll throw herself into battle, without thinking about her own safety, often getting hurt in the process…

erina might act like those are just little scratches and that she's perfectly fine, but you know better than to trust her judgement!

after every battle, no matter how minor it was, you pull your girlfriend aside and force her to sit down and let you examine her!

thanks to the adrenalin, erina might not even notice she's injured, so even if she insists she is fine, you make sure to check!

usually, you end up finding at least a couple of scratches. you always make sure to patch her up, knowing erina wouldn't bother to do it herself

though on the occasion that she's more severely injured, you force your girlfriend to rest, after treating her wounds!

and while erina might not enjoy laying around and letting her wounds slowly heal, you always manage to have her do it!

how? well, as long as you lay down with her and disguise it as cuddling, your girlfriend can't refuse your request!

“this hurts me far more than it hurts you.”

you knew what was coming. and toshiro knew that you knew. both of you had been aware that this relationship couldn't keep going on forever, no matter how badly you two wanted it to.

“just… get it over with, alright?”

you didn't want toshiro to explain anything to you. you knew that the reason he had to leave you was his father, deciding that you weren't part of that perfect image that he was building up for his son. you knew from the start that in the eyes of his father, you would never be good enough for toshiro.

“i can't see you anymore. we're done.”

toshiro obliged your request, telling you outright that this was the end. this perfect relationship you two had, ripped apart by the will of his father. or rather, the lack of resistance from toshiro, who simply did as he was told.

“i understand.” you nodded, trying to stay strong. you didn't want toshiro to see you crying. you didn't want to let him know how much you truly cared about him. because all of that didn't matter anymore. nothing you could say or do now would make a difference.

“i hope it'll be worth it.”

the words slipped out of your lips, even if you had intended to keep them to yourself. quietly, you turned around. for a moment, you hesitated, waiting to see if toshiro had anything to say. but when he didn't, you took it as a sign to leave.

“i hope so too…” toshiro softly mumbled, as soon as you were out of sight. if he had to lose you to secure his future, he truly hoped it wouldn't all be for nothing…
