Turns out my project took a new turn in it's final developments. I couldn't afford the fan that I needed, so had to opt out for a cheaper, less powerful fan. I wrapped the container in sticks to give it that organic feel I was aiming for, and also to cover up the mechanical section inside. I used plastic as it is see through, so that you could not only see the wire that stuck out but also the wire that was inside actually touching the fan. This idea show vibration and movement quite successfully, and hides the actual mechanics/wires well.

Slight development in ideas/thought process. I have decided that the way I was attempting to make my project would not work as I couldn't find the necessary materials anywhere; so I've changed my idea to using a weight and spring system. I will have a small string attached to the bottom of the wooden platform on both sides; when the battery circuit is activated from the input, there will be a small capture (that holds the spring and weight), that will fall away from underneath the weight releasing it and allowing for the weight to pull down the spring. This will then bounce up and down pulling down one of the sides of the platform. This will also happen on the other side of the platform creating a swaying movement of the platform, allowing the thin wires to hit into each other, making small noises and vibrations.

My main idea in this output of the 'Activate' project will be to create a beautiful, natural composition that is simple and aesthetically pleasing. I will be aiming to make the slight sounds of the wires touching the most elegant part of the composition. The only issue still is how I am going to make the platform that the wires are on, to move.

Process so far - I have had difficulty on the electrical side of things in this project, I have so far been unable to find the right piece of vibrating, electrical motor or pump that I was hoping for and am now not really sure what I will be able to use. I am in need of using the workshop so need to figure this out and buy something before the end of the day.

Updates. Have finally gotten somewhere with my code. Have changed my ideas so many times through this project I've lost count. The code I will definitely be sticking with now involves the use of small particles. I have particles that fall when the code is first opened up, they then form into a block at the bottom of the screen until they the mouse is moved over them; this forces them to dart across the screen away from the mouse. I am adding in a growth/shrink option to the code now. Then i will add a few more interactions and will be finished and ready for the hand-in tomorrow.
