It's wild how much female characters are policed in fandom and wild that it's a cross-fandom experience, hell, it's even in Romance. People just REALLY hate when women have sex/aren't virginal and that pisses me off like you wouldn't believe considering it's NEVER the same for men (and, really, it shouldn't be an issue irrespective of gender). Anyway! This sounds like a great story idea ��
@pacificwanderer I will give the SasuSaku shippers this: they’re also extremely protective of Sasuke’s virginity, so as a group they’re slightly less hypocritical than most m/f shippers! 😂 But I do get more complaints about Sakura having sex with anyone besides Sasuke than the other way around, so Sexism Is Present.
You’re 100% right that it’s a cross-fandom issue, but it’s worse in Naruto fandom than any other I’ve written for. Although I did have that one great FFN reviewer who asked me on a Reylo fic “Why do you always make Rey a whore?” 🙃
Of course, I haven’t encountered any such issues in Stucky fandom...
