Proposal: Luxury Party Refresh

Next year, this pack is turning 10!

Check out my proposal for a pack refresh for the oldest and first Sims 4 Stuff Pack released in 2015: Luxury Party Stuff.

Let’s celebrate this major milestone with a proper luxurious party.

In this proposal, we explore adding

More stuff to this empty Stuff Pack.

A new social event.

Build mode items.

Diverse hairstyles.

More masculine fashion.

Why refresh?

Luxury Party Stuff has oftentimes ranked at the bottom on pack rank-lists. With only 12 buy items and 40 CAS items, this pack totals a mere 52 items.

Spooky Stuff, also released in 2015, has a whopping 70 items plus a new Spooky Party event. Paranormal Stuff, released in 2021, has a total of 72 items, plus a new career, plus a new lot type, plus new NPCs, plus new gameplay all in one Stuff Pack.

Many players who have paid full price for Luxury Party do not feel they have gotten their money’s worth. Stuff Packs have since evolved to offer so much more in terms of objects and gameplay. Comparatively, Luxury Party is more akin to a Kit and it’s main gameplay objects are no longer exclusive to this Stuff Pack.

I hope my proposal can inspire a refresh for this time-forgotten and obsolete Stuff Pack. There is potential for new gameplay fitting the theme of a Luxury Party. There is plenty of room to add new and modern items. It’s time to make Luxury Party the life of the party again and save it from it’s current “Don’t Buy” ranking and place it onto the “Must Have” list.

I am gonna say this now If they ever refresh jungle adventures i want them to tone down the colonizers point of view alittle bit .

Like sure you can take apart the temples and the sand and take home all your spoils and clean them up and authenticate them thats fine but then it doesnt sit right with me that our only option after that is to either keep it in our personal collection like some greedy rich billionaire or sell it from our inventory which to me either reads as black market or private auction and thats just.... so rancid to me..

What i would suggest is adding a new townie job (like the mayor or grocer in cottage living ) called museum keeper or historian or somthing that is present in the museum in Salvadora that you can donate artifacts to and in return they give you a certificate or money depending on the quality of the item you donate as a thank you as a little bit of lore they could also be decendant of the lady that has a statue in the towns square you can have a few friendly interactions with them to discover this . Also add a shelf with miniature replicas on it that would be called selvadorada meuseum gift shop rack where you can click on it and buy mini replicas of the artifacts (which are easy to make just size down the artifacts and change the name and tags of them).

It’s just one thing...

So with the new Spa Day pack refresh, I’m pretty sure it got most of us thinking what we would like to see happen with the other packs. For fun, I picked one thing I would like to see get worked on or added, for this post, all the expansion packs. Now, this doesn’t mean I don’t want more fixed or looked at, looking at you Get to Work, but to give myself a space to really sit and think about the one thing that would greatly improve my experience with a pack. For example: although with the new Cottage Living, I really do wish we could have picnics on the ground, I chose something else that I feel would enhance my gameplay and immersion.

The Sims 4: Get to Work - retail system overhaul (multifunction lots, at home businesses, more type of lots to own, like a spa or bar, etc)

The Sims 4: Get Together - remove tvs as requirements on commercial lots so sims use other objects for fun (i don’t think having this pack and making a club should be required just for the chance to see sims use the foosball table autonomously)

The Sims 4: City Living -  flesh out semi-active careers (ex: people actually showing up to speeches, campaign parties for politicans}

The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs - pet groomers (new lot type,can take both cats and dogs to be groomed, can incorporate create-a-pet and add funky pet styles, both when done well and failed.)

The Sims 4: Seasons - trick or treating (while I miss festivals, i don’t really like how sims 4 does them, so i’ll pick the second thing I miss the most)

The Sims 4: Get Famous - famous as a musician (the same thing they did for the actor career, i’d like for with musicians. You can be a famous singer, instrumentalist, or dj. Bring back bands as well.)

The Sims 4: Island Living - surfing (Surfing as a hobby. Also had an extreme sports career for sports like surfing, snowboarding, and skiing. Add surf competitions like the other island festivals.)

The Sims 4: Discover University - random parties (random parties that happen at bar lots and dorms, can be crashed by rival students, bring back juiced state)

The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle - better NAPs (better balanced NAPs and ones that go across all packs/worlds, better NAPs reactions{sims who traits go against NAPs being negative, not participating, sims who NAPs didn’t win, same thing})

The Sims 4: Snowy Escape - extreme sports career (coinciding with IL, new career, participate in competitions, record videos for fame, go for gold in sim version of Olympics. Also have the ability to be an instructor.)

The Sims 4: Cottage Living - compatibility with Cats and Dogs (vets can make house calls to take care of farm animals, can take chickens, random foxes and bunnies to vet, check ups, cure illnesses, heal injuries)

REFRESH: TV Workout, Fitness Stuff

The Fitness Stuff Pack offers a unique feature to perform a workout routine through the Workout TV channel. However, there are also some unfortunate limitations to the Workout TV channels that could use a second look and hopefully get corrected through a Pack Refresh.

Increase Participation

Did you know that only ONE Sim at a time can use the Workout Channel? This may be by design or an oversight, but that means in a household of 8 Sims, only ONE Sim can work out via the Workout TV channel at a time. No other participants can join in. If I form a group of Sims, this group still cannot work out together at the same time using the Plumboomba Dance or Power Sculpting channels.

The Solution This could be fixed to allow more than one Sim to participate, offer a Work Out Together option for groups , and make it so any Sim at any time to join in when the Workout channel is already playing on the TV.

TVs at Gyms

Allow the Workout channel to be used autonomously when on the Gym lot and with the added touch of townie Sims activating and using this feature on their own. Our playable Sims could then join, and vise versa.
