Some cutie booties I've made recently.

I know it's been a while, my bad! I left pretty frustrated with the Sims 4. I don't know which update for Businesses and Hobbies essentially broke retail shops for me (and one of Bug Squad's storylines involves Spider renovating his flower shop), the dreaded weather inside bug, and a few others, I just didn't want to bother with it. It made me extra worried that I'd potentially corrupt my main saves and if you don't know, I'm deadly paranoid about corrupted saves (click link for the lore) from my Sims 3 days, so I took some time off. Seriously, if I lost Bug Squad's save, I'd probably quit the Sims for good. Today, they dropped a laundry list that should hopefully make things better for a good chunk of the bugs I currently have, so I'm tentatively waiting to continue their stories. In the meanwhile, I've been play testing with these Sims:

Meet Calypso and Calliope, they're my first in-game twins from my very first sims 4 save file. Technically, they're still kids, but I moved them to a fresh save and aged them up to playtest retail shops and small businesses (I wanted to compare as well as see what the issues I noticed with Spider's shop were).

Calypso (Purple) owns a retail bakery shop that sells bread and Calliope (Yellow) owns a small business that sells cakes and other sweet treats. I wanted to do a write-up about how each of them plays, but between employees resetting in small businesses, employees not doing tasks in retail, not being able to buy advertisement in retail, and other bugs, it wasn't a noteworthy endeavor. Luckily my employees shouldn't reset now in Calliope's shop, but retail from Get to Work just feels incredibly broken as of late.

I'm ready to get back to Bug Squad, so here's to hoping the next patch helps. Happy simming!

Mini Rant

EA selling the ability to have multifunction retail lots while the original retail lots barely work and people are okay with this

Ugh. I feel more disappointed in myself for believing for a split second that a billion-dollar company would do the right thing and just refresh Get to Work (because that's what this pack is, a refresh), but if anything if kinda confirmed my consipiracy theory that they wanted pack refreshes to "fail," and wanted to prime its audience to be okay with older pack features becoming new content.

I'm probably a bit grumpy because I coming off a bug and I still have this aggravating, lingering itch in my ear from my sinus infection, but this pack reveal kinda made me angry. Like, who could've predicted that they'd release a new retail pack 10, TEN, years later when for all intents and purposes, outside of those random bug fix updates, any update to selling items was relegated to selling tables and the odd online retailer (that also barely function). It's cruel. It's business. It sucks.

Now, I'm even paranoid to open my game due to me utilizing a feature that was central to a pack (residential rentals) because the life simulator didn't launch with a build-a-world tool and the $40 worlds are getting smaller and there's no room to add different lot types unless I shove whole families into apartments on one lot because there is no ability to add more lots to the world. Like do they actually want people to play the game? LOL.

*sigh* I'm going to post screenies for Katydid this week while I wait to see if there's a significant statement about the sleeper save breaker, and brainstorm what I can do in the meantime for content until some significant fix can be patched in.

I meant to get this out earlier this week, but I got super busy and I pretty sure I caught a bug from my roomie, but it's finals week for me and I have a large project due, so no posts this week. Here's an edit of Billie I gave up on. I'll see you all next week, Happy Simming!

Billie Jang

Billie's currently working as a simfluencer while going to school for journalism, but she's been wondering about her future. Should she focus her degree on PR work, or just drop out and focus on building her own Internet personality and brand? Or, should she switch it up and just become a stylist, although she really does love setting the trends herself. Hopefully something sticks because the only thing Billie's committed to is her limited edition lipliner from Octavia Moon's makeup line.

Billie always seemed like a fun, colorful kid, so I wanted to keep that. She's already a goofball and i made her nosy, so I figured journalism would be a good job for her, but I also thought she'd be a really cool social media personality. AND then once I finished her outfits I thought she'd be good at being a stylist, so I made her noncommittal so she'd have opportunities to bounce around try whatever she feels like. She likes athletic and stoic sims since she has to "be on" for work, and she prefers calm evenings in to decompress.

Happy Friday everyone! I don't really have much to say today haha. I mostly worked. I should have some free time this weekend. I've started two stories for my blog that I want to work on and I've also am going to start up this book again (I got distracted last year and never finished it):

I'm glad I finally feel like I've got some direction with Katydid story and I can't wait to play with Dragonfly and hopefully do the same. I'm trying to plot out the next 3 weeks in-game in order to get the main story going, but I hope this first rotation did a good job re-introducing the bugs and their goals. That's it, I hope you watch something interesting this week. I've gotta organize my Letterboxd because I found some new stuff to add and probably watch something by David Lynch, RIP. Orange Bailey-Moon

Orange rejected the glitz and glamour of their parents, embracing anti-establishment and self-expression. After a quick sabbatical (aka, dropping out of college and hiding out at a resort in Sulani) they returned to the spotlight as the drummer of Grunge band LuNaCY. After the success of their latest single, "Nothing Rhymes," there have been rumors that despite their rebellious image and a seemingly meager lifestyle, Orange has quite opulent tastes and has been living off a hefty trust fund from their parents.

Aesthetically, I pulled from Punk and Metal bands. Despite the reputation they've established with their music, Orange likes the lavish things in life. But, it is true that they're big on self-expression, and they love doing that through painting, spending sometimes days in their studio. They're also open to love and affection however it may come, as long as they're willing to shower them with gifts and money.
