Don’t worry, mom, I got this! .... The level of busy has been off the charts; can’t seem to catch a breath. After taxes this morning, grocery shopping at #TraderJoes, home to unload, take care of dogs, and get Han back in the car and out to #Corona for my doc appointment. .... Being the wonderful gentleman he is, Han Solo took care of the weigh-in for me. Do you think they will notice? .... From here, straight out to see Han’s orthopedic surgeon in Tustin at the #VeterinarySurgicalSpecialists. Thankfully, at this time she doesn’t believe it’s serious. Probably just tweaked it playing ball. There is some inflammation at the surgical site so he’s on antibiotics to prevent a serious bone infection and an anti-inflammatory. Keep your fingers crossed! .... Long drive home and hours of work ahead of us when we reached home just after 5pm; could hardly keep my eyes open all day! Whew, it’s done. It’s over. How was your day? What did you do with your canine companion? How many of you went for at least a 60 min walk? How many of you did at least two 20 min obedience sessions? How many of you taught your dog something new? .... Super Trainer Challenge: Open up a book or google canine anatomy. Every day name at least one part of your dogs body. Be very specific! Meet Miss Rockie! 🚀 ... This beautiful 10 month spayed female #Rottweiler is crate trained and current on vaccs with a heart of gold. She loves everyone and gets along wonderfully with pups of all ages, sizes and breeds. I’ve been socializing her daily since she arrived five weeks ago, no reactivity or aggression. ... Rockie will only be placed in a California home, ideally in the Inland Empire as she has made a lot of friends and would like to keep playing with them! Yep, her CGC came in the mail today! Woohoo! She went from broken little puppy in the OC Shelter 8yrs ago to a real dog! Just goes to show ya, even a genetic mess like our little Noli-cannoli can achieve some of her dreams too! . Congratulations, Nola! Happy #NationalPuppyDay! . If the pics were not enough, you need a video. I mean, who doesn’t want to watch puppies play all day? . I suppose I also could have started this post with: I bet my Saturday was way better than yours! 😉🐾 . Rockie has been here nearly four weeks now. She came in like a wrecking ball! Pulling, jumping on dogs, diving into their faces and pretty high separation anxiety. We have been working her through all of this and here you see her learning to be gentle enough to play with puppies. She’s really a great dog and will only get better. Trust me, you want her. . Rockie is still waiting for you! She’s ready for a home! She’s 9m, SF, UTD Vaccs and comes with a free training program! If interested, please fill out the app on IDOHR.org! Call it what you want, this is just cool. What we get to do, this whole #dogtrainer thing, it's cool. We love it. The #SoCal weather was absolutely perfect today, and we had the chance to do a mini #PacktoBasics socialization with Gus, Shadow, Marley, Rufus, Sydney, Rocco, Zeenah, Lucius, Nola, and Dharma. Whew! Fun stuff! Rufus the #Dane and Shadow the #GSD are super play buddies so they got to run around like goofballs! This was so good for our #ForceFreeMethod board and train, #Sydney. She needs lots of work on appropriate #dog play and interaction, and boy is she getting lots here! Social hour plus three private lessons totaling 4 hours, in addition to a 90min check out with our two daycare kids, Buddy & Nina. Add in client tech support texts, emails, and phone calls, more scheduling and prep for tomorrow's consult in Mission Viejo, and feeding the pack, potty / play round and then tucking them all in bed by 9:30pm, and we call that a good day. Sun-up to sun-down, it was all about the dogs. Oh, and the sprinkler system this morning! But really, it's all about the dogs and creating balance. As the weekend comes to a close, and we prepare for the week, I hope you had a wonderful #holiday, and a very restful weekend. It was a good weekend for all of us here #attheendofyourleash .com. We walked with #superdogs, rocked a few #PacktoBasics socials, and swam with the dogs. We had fabulous lessons, lots of laughs, and played with dogs. We watched clients become #superheroes and their #sidekicks get closer to earning their capes. We worked on future plans, and have a list of goals to accomplish this week, this month, and this year, but today #WonderWoman rested. Just a little #packwalk with some #superheroes bright and early, 6:30am! Yep, we all got up that early so we could walk our #superdogs before #socal heated up too much in the #inlandempire! ☀️🌴 Some even drove up to two hours away to be here, how awesome is that? We followed this up with #packtobasics #socialization, and I'm pretty sure all the dogs slept for hours! I know my dogs did. Then I woke them up and took them swimming for a few hours. This is a perfect Rx for your dog if the #fireworks tend to be a little scary. Long walk early in the morning, pack socialization, a few hours of swim time... calm, relaxed, sleepy dogs. Just remember, please don't leave them outside tonight. Keep them safe inside your home.
