The musical side projects can also give their musicians a chance to shine on their own. The Other Two can be elucidated as a great example of this, because Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert, the glue that holds New Order together, showed themselves as a capable electronic music duo. Mind you, they work brilliantly within their primary group, Morris' drumming and Gilbert's sonic proficiency floors me, but their side gig presents us with a couple of players that should've had a larger career outside their band. True, perhaps they saw The Other Two as a lark, but one wishes they would've done more in that vein. The discs they released under the moniker remain some of the most pleasant electronic music you can find out there.
