Hey guys! When I was new to Tumblr, someone was kind enough to send this tip to me, and I was so grateful.
Reblogs are one of the best ways for your work to be seen by others. However, many people will not reblog extra-long posts because they take up too much space on the dashboard.
Luckily, that's easily fixed by using a "Keep Reading" page break. Which looks like this:
The reader can click on "Keep reading," and, well, they can keep reading!
This will really help in encouraging others to share your work. It will also help us at CFWC because it prevents us from creating new posts for links to stories - something we will be curtailing in upcoming weeks.
If you need instructions on how to do this, please see step-by-step instructions (for desktop and mobile) below. Feel free to ask us any questions! ❤️
How to add a "Keep Reading" page break on a laptop/desktop:
Click on the symbol with three squiggly lines at the end. (Note: Yours probably won't have the green circle behind it as in this picture.)
To add a "Keep Reading" page break from the mobile app:
After you hit return, you will see the page break, which will look like this:
Then you finish like this:
Again, if you have any questions, please let us know!
