Job Purpose:
To assist the Student Affairs Marketing and Communications (SAMC) team with promoting student life by photographing special events, students for student profiles and student life.
Job Description:
• With direction from the senior designer, determine project goals, locations and equipment needs by assessing assignments and consulting with the SAMC team or clients.
• Become adept at capturing the breadth and diversity of Student Affairs departments and events.
• Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with professional career staff and meet deadlines for all projects.
• Follow the SAMC workflow for cataloging and storing files.
Qualifications:
• Must be able to attend mandatory training and promotional events as needed.
• Experience and knowledge of photography (principles, technical components, etc.).
• Available for weekend and evening work.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Proficiency in Macintosh platforms.
• Strong verbal and written skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Reliable and professional
• Able to work effectively both independently and with a team.
• Strong time management skills.
• Eager and able to learn quickly.
• Availability during the summer is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to transport photography equipment to various shooting locations.
Other:
Digital cameras provided by SAMC or you may use your own camera.
Approximate Hours per Week:
12-19. The majority of time will be spent shooting on location, in and around campus. Photo assignments can be submitted remotely. Face-to-face meetings with the SAMC team will occur as needed.
