Studio Mucci House Tour

Known for her colorful personality and vibrantly decorated apartment, Amina Mucciolo and her husband have been decorating their space and lives in order to, “promote love and kindness and inspire others to accept themselves for who they are.”

Their playful home has just been featured in the most recent IKEA catalogue and described as The Most Colorful Apartment in the World.

The Opening Ceremony for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang was quite the sight. The projection mapping was extremely detailed and, of course, beautiful, but what I enjoyed most were the massive animal puppets. The theatrical storytelling and intricate and lifelike puppets were all thanks to a Brooklyn puppet designer named Nicholas Mahon.

Mahon’s role was to oversee the fabrication and construction of the puppets while providing artistic guidance into their movements.

Kehinde Wiley is responsible for the 44th president‘s leafy aesthetic, while Amy Sherald created a unique depiction of Michelle Obama, complete with a geometric patterned gown.

Winter in Chicago can be ruff. This piece was conceptualized in January while I was longing for warmth, and my dog, Franklin (currently vacationing with his grandparents). This fun, type treatment and bold color palette is sure to get you excited for the upcoming summer. Stay cool.

Recently, Timothy Goodman and Jessica Walsh started a Skillshare class titled, “Quotes on Shit”.

These two have been responsible for some of my favorite work like “40 Days of Dating” and “12 Kinds of Kindness”.

Honing in on their fun, care-free style of art, Timothy and Jessica share their techniques for hand lettering on a variety of objects to get their viewers to think in new and creative ways for their side projects and passions.

In just a few shorts weeks, Netflix will present its next documentary series, Abstract: The Art of Design. Similar to their already successful Chef’s Table, Abstract will take us into the lives of several designers and some of their most successful projects:

The eight-episode series will focus on eight designers from different disciplines: Graphic design, illustration, photography, architecture, interior design, set design, shoe design and automobile design. There are some pretty huge names in each category, perhaps most notable being the Danish architect Bjarke Ingels (think Via 57 West), Nike's Tinker Hatfield (think Air Jordans and Mags) and Fiat Chrysler's head of design Ralph Gilles (many, many cars).

Really looking forward to my next Netflix binge session.

I discovered Tim Cantor’s gallery while walking through San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter about a year ago. I was familiar with his work for Imagine Dragon’s album art in 2015 for Smoke + Mirrors, but only after having studied the details of his art in person did I truly fall in love with his work.

His surrealist content combined with his realistic technique of painting is absolutely fascinating. The detail and hidden messaging behind his work leaves you wanting more. 

I recently purchased his book Tim Cantor: Paintings and Writings. It’s a biography paired with several of his pieces and the writings that accompany each work. I revisit the pages of this book often when looking for inspiration of my own.

This past summer, agencyEA was chosen to design the artwork and credential designs for the 2016 Democratic National Convention. 

I had the honor of developing the thematic and creating a variety of illustrations for each of the designations that represented our Constitution under the theme of “We The People.”

There were 177 unique badges created for the event, all with varying colors, text, barcodes and artwork combinations. In addition to designing the main convention credentials, we also created badge looks for the suites and entertainment spaces.
