Happy Typography Tuesday everyone! I love doing hand-painted type, and I did this as a gift for the girl who I rent my studio from (we often refer to our Topanga Canyon sanctuary as “the Babe Cave”). This type of hand-lettering is a great excuse for me to pull out my watercolors and have some fun!

Fresh Type

I noticed the lettering work of graduate Corin Kennington over on Creative Review today. Some lovely work, right up my street with some of this signage and decorative type. Take a look at the interview here.

SIGN PAINT (Oviedo-Spain) by Juan Díaz-Faes

I'm not sign painter (much less) but last year I organized an event in my city (Oviedo) the Rótulo (like "sign paint). The idea was that many illustrators, typographers, designers and calligraphers (thanks everybody), we painted the locals of the city with signs to preserve the aesthetic and part of the sign painter profession. In one month we painted 34 locals, but we still have at least another 130 for painting. Our intention is that sign paints are permanent in the city. These are the places that I painted.

HAPPY MID 20s CRISIS
