for your extrovert boyfriend 🫱🏻‍🫲🏾 introvert girlfriend consideration: peeta stopping to talk to everyone while they’re out on a walk together, but katniss was just looking forward to spending time with him and she realllllllly does not feel like speaking to other people and so she’s like. subtly (not subtly at all) fake laughing along and tugging on his arm and trying to communicate with her eyes

and when he picks up on it he’s like “what’s up?” and she’s like “I want to just spend time with you, okay?” and he’s like “🥹” and Katniss is like “😒 … 😌” and then they go off to spend time together and he gives her his full attention which does also include teasing her about how obsessed she is with him and she’s like “guilty as charged and don’t care”

no thoughts except PTA mama!katniss who carries around a (comically large, in comparison to herself) backpack so she can keep snacks and juice boxes for the kids - as well as a first aid kit, of course, because you know she’s super attentive like that. the little ones trust her implicitly and peeta jokes that everytime he sees her volunteering she has a random kid stuck to her hip.

Mrs. M who always has delicious baked goods and always tends scrapes and bumps so tenderly, and who always has interesting facts about nature, and who sings like an angel … children ADORE her, regardless of what parents might think, and her scars and sometimes sad eyes never unnerves them, because who could be unnerved by the lady in the red dress with the long braid who always smells of cinnamon and pine, and who gives the best hugs?

i cannot stop thinking about peeta interacting with katniss’ belly when she’s pregnant. he’d be so goofy and sweet, resting his head just above her navel while she lies in bed and plays with his hair on bad days, leaning down to kiss over the spots where the baby kicks, greeting the little one each morning and saying goodnight too 🥺

please… join me and cry 🥲

he spends her whole pregnancy murmuring to his little baby, and even on bad days, he manages to wish both wife and child a good morning, even if he doesn’t manage to say anything else the rest of the day … and you best believe his babies know his voice immediately … I can’t … oh I’m going to cry

no thoughts just katniss nursing her babies until they fall asleep and then her and peeta awkwardly trying to get them to bed without waking them, all the while trying not to laugh at their little baby snores and grumbles because they’re being moved

their rosy milk drunk babies doing precious little chirps and squirms as Mama and Papa (Mama! and Papa! my heart melts!) cuddle them

now don’t imagine the babies are a little less than three years apart and Katniss does tandem nursing and then they carry their babies to their rooms together with Peeta holding his toddler daughter and Katniss cradling their son

dropping in to offer you everlark ‘fighting’ over the sheets on their bed when the weather starts to get colder. katniss totally hogs them and tries to cocoon herself in them, which in turn bares peeta’s shoulders and drives him crazy because it’s frosty in there!! (even though he’s the one who insists they keep the window open). and of course, the only compromise they can make is to snuggle and hold each other because then they have equal access to the quilt and also shared warmth 🧺🛏🧑🏼‍🦱👩🏽🪵🕯

Katniss makes herself a burrito and Peeta has a right time trying to unwrap her and get the covers back because she holds the blankets tight. But she doesn’t really mean to horde the warmth, much as she feels he deserves a little comeuppance for leaving the window open, and finally she will let him into her burrito and they will keep each other toasty, for Peeta is very toasty. In winter, the family will all pile in together. 🥺

the autumn-y feel of your blog has given me the inspired thought of wee toastbabies (all bundled up to keep out any chill from the wind) out collecting pretty leaves with their papa and making pictures and other decorations with them to surprise mama when she comes home from the woods 🍂🕯👧🏽👶🏼🍁🫖

*lip wobble* but please imagine the tiny toasts at the wooden kitchen table, candles or oil lamps glowing and giving light as they sit on their small knees with colored pencils in their chubby hands as they make pretty pages with pressed or stenciled leaves for Mama to hang above the sink, along the bannister, everywhere 🍁 and imagine them gathering bittersweet vine with her and coming home in gray woolen knit coats (or carried in a baby wrap when they’re younger, small hats firmly tucked onto their little heads) with bundles of the twisty boughs to decorate bedposts and mantle pieces 🍯 and imagine Peeta teaching his little ones to paint pinecones and string them up with ribbon ☕️ and imagine apple and pumpkin cookies cut into the shapes of foxes and rabbits and autumn leaves and carefully frosted by eager little hands 🕯 and thin paper colored and pasted to windows in faux stained glass that casts sunset light on the warm hardwood in the afternoon ☁️ imagine fairytales by firelight and baths scented with vanilla oils and Mama teaching her little ones how she sews quilts or strings her bow and Papa showing them how to double knot shoes for autumn foraging and how to make a wreath for the oncoming winter and how to carve a pumpkin or whittle a wood bird just like the one outside the window with the pretty nest in the misty autumn morning light ♥️
