Review: Aangan Drama Episode 1
So the long awaited (long long LONG awaited) drama finally aired its first episode today, and man, it was intense. My favourite most scene was of the son and his wife having the heavy conversation revolving around the British.
I was too taken aback by the father's multiple partners thing. That's too intense for me. This kinda stuff will always remain so for me. How in the world can a Muslim keep relations with a woman outside of marriage?! His wife's character was the saddest for me. Yes she was an ill-tempered, hard soul, but she had real reasons, man. And I'm kinda impressed how upright she was about the issue. What most women would have done is that they would have just covered up the whole issue for the sake of so-called honour. They would still have been intimated by their husbands. She just downright tells him how he is non-existent for her after his affairs.
That daughter and Ahsan Khan scene was too dramatic. The daughter being the far crazier one. Nice to see her getting wedded off in the next episode. There were clearly no signs of improvement for her haha.
This bahu saas and jithani dewrani rivalries that have been showcased, and which portray the households of our subcontinent since forever, is something I am thankfully running away from. I will never get this joint family system and may Allah guide us to the righteous path, ameen!
