San Marino (RSM). New mainland trips. Old Town. Of the passage to San Marino I report some photos of the historic center. a) The government building, which there they call the Palazzo Pubblico (also because it is the seat of various institutional organ). It was built according to medieval canons, and actually dates back to 1884, in place of the Domus Magna Comunis (1380), which was demolished just before. On the square (della Libertà) stands the statue of Liberty (1876). b) La Rocca - Guaita, that is "guard", is a sighting tower (XI century); it is the oldest of the three towers that dominate Mount Titano, on which the ancient city is built. At the foot of the tower is the chapel of Santa Barbara (1960). The panorama of the city is visible from the square, with the Palazzo Pubblico in the foreground. 3) View of the Piazzetta del Titano from via Basilicius, very crowded, however it is August.
