Okay, so, this is kind of a weird question, but I really liked how you explained the pale quadrant as non-sexual romance. Could you do me a favor and explain the emotional difference between the pale quadrant and the red quadrant is? Not, like, what a pale romance feels like, I get that already. It's the red quadrant I really just do not understand.

I would write flush a lot different in a lot of ways like i dunno dude, flush is a real relationship and you’re really you but at the same time you kind of front a little bit. you want to be the best and prettiest and sexiest you can be because the other person is the best and prettiest and sexiest IN UR HEART and there’s a lot more of wanting to arouse and transport your partner w/ intense physical/sexual pleasure and a lot less of trying to soothe and transport your partner w/ contentedness/pleasantly intense sensation. Also way less trying to pick apart emotional issues before they become issues/the whole emotional counseling angle. Like, you’re not some idealized fake version but you’re also not going to start confessing all these deep abiding fears and flaws to your matesprit.

Also you don’t ask your flush bf/gf/other to get you together with other quadrants/to help you make another quadrant work, probably? Probably your moirail is your help there all like “hey you gotta sort out your shit before you go talk to her, she’s totally into you but you keep fucking up b/c you get mad at yourself when you stutter even though it’s totally okay to stutter and we have talked about this before you unfortunate heap of mess”.

I feel like your matesprit is the datemate you want to sit next to your hospital bed and bring you flowers while you’re sick and you want to look properly ill but not TOO ill when they show up, just kind of romantically ill, y’know. and your moirail is the one you want there holding your hair/patting your back while you get sick, telling you off for staying out in the rain and getting yourself sick in the first place. Then both of them kiss you, but the matesprit gets in trouble for getting too handsy and playful and pulling off the O2 monitor and the moirail gets in trouble for soothing you off to sleep right before you were supposed to get your lunch tray and then getting really protective and telling everybody how much you need your rest.

That’s how I see the difference anyway. Idk if any of this makes sense but oh well.

I’m still not convinced that lusii do any talking at all, but let’s say for the sake of this ask that they do have some way of communicating specific ideas to their kids. :D “The Talk” for sexual relationships is mostly about the mechanics of the relationship/safety in practice, so I guess for a relationship like moirallegiance it would be stuff like

don’t give out any blackmail-worthy information on a first date

make sure you know the quadrant you’re going for is the same one they’re going for

if you feel like they don’t value you as a partner don’t sink a bunch of your time into them, sometimes it’s not your business if somebody self-destructs.
