Co-founder of Mellanox Technologies, sold to Nvidia in 2019 for $6.8 billion, Waldman opened tech centers in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, hiring hundreds of Palestinian engineers. He donated $360,000 to an oncology hospital in Gaza.
He participated in Israeli-Palestinian bilateral forums for a diplomatic solution to the conflict. In 2024, he received the Israel Prize, the Jewish state’s highest civilian honor.
On October 7, 2023, his daughter Danielle was massacred at the Re’im festival. She was twenty-four years old.
Venice, May 6, 2026. On the sidelines of the Biennale, Waldman crosses paths with some pro-Palestinian protesters. He approaches. He smiles. He shakes hands with one of them and asks if he wants to make peace. The man replies that Israelis are animals. Then he calls him a murderer. Then he screams. Around them, almost no one seems to react. The video goes around the world.
