Shoutout to Warden Lochin, the Pale Tree’s personal attendant who escorts us to her in Rallying Call, only shows up for ten minutes to protect her with Trahearne during The World Summit, and unavoidably dies when the Shadow of the Dragon shows up.
New Sylvari character. Cause, apparently I love rolling new ones and leveling them. Anyhow. Trying to discover what the Pale Tree actually looks like.
**Warning, possible crazy theory ahead!**
All you ever see is her Avatar, a representation. But it that what her true form looks like? Or just something to put your mind at ease? I don’t know all the lore. But my understanding is, we really don’t know where she comes from. What if she is a dragon? Not necessarily an “elder dragon”; which I think is basically a dragon that’s amassed large amounts of power. The Pale Tree was found as a see (as I recall), and planted. Away from other dragons, and possible far enough away to keep her from absorbing large amounts of magic. Unlike Aurene. Aurene has had many chances to absorb power and has progressed to great power. But what would happen if a dragon didn’t? Could the Pale Tree be this? I think of Mordremoth and creating minions (slaves), where as the Pale Tree creates similar beings, but with a free will. Sort of? They are in the dream, and are usually haunted by the need to fulfill that dream. Also, the avatar of her, the dreams (mind abilities) as seem to mimic Mordremoth, but in a much friendly way. I also wonder if the “dreams” are more like memories of fallen Sylvari. Are they all connected? And if she uses the memories to create visions for her other children to help them learn and grow. Prepare for the tasks at hand.
All of this reminds me of Mordremoth, but in a good way. It’s like the balance of “good and evil” of dragons: Glint verses Kralkatorik.
Ok, maybe I have totally lost it. I have had a lack of sleep and my mind likes to stretch things. But what if!? I think it would be a really interesting story plot line twist. Not to mention, if Tyria needs friendly elder dragons, she would make an excellent replacement for the next one we have to nix. Just saying. Sorry if this spoils anything for someone. I am curious if anyone has some lore info to clear things up, or further my delusion. Curious to see.
Don't ask how she replied.
A mother's love.
