I consider my palm hyperhidrosis one of my most disabling conditions. Sounds a bit dramatic when i also have moderate me/cfs, heds, and a fucked up autonomous nervous system but it's true. And no one thinks it's that bad, everyone gets sweaty hands sometimes, right? But it's the reason i can't read books because i will literally dissolve the pages. I can't touch food. Doesn't sound too bad until you need to use a fork to eat your bread and pizza and gummybears. By now it's so severe I have to carry towels around with me everwhere because otherwise my hands will be dripping. It gets so bad that i can't even use my phone because touchscreens can't read the motions because it's that wet. Do you know how difficult it is to take meds when you can't touch them? Most of my time i can't do my hobbies because my hands are too wet. Handsewing and embroidery are really slow when you have to dry your hand off between every single stitch. Pattern drafting requires thin paper that dissolved pretty fast when wet. Holding onto most objects gets a lot harder when everything is so fucking slippery.
Hyperhidrosis sucks and getting treatment is excruciatingly slow because no one thinks it's much of an issue. I already had hyperhidrosis when i was seven years old. Well over a decade. And it's only gotten worse and i still don't even have an official diagnosis in my medical file.
And yes i've tried drinking sage tea and as a kid it even helped a bit but it's too severe for that now. I've already tried topical salves but they dried out my hands so bad the skin started cracking open. It's not anxiety issues and home remedies will not work.
