Cimmerian
You will never own my heart. Tread softly or you’ll fall apart. Moonstones hide under my tongue, a haunting spell escapes my lungs. Oooo. Oooo. Oooo. Oooo. I won’t be alone tonight. Cimmerian inamorato! Won’t you love, love my empty soul? Efflorescence, swollen heart, my mind games will make you start whispering sweet nothings; do not let us fall apart. Cimmerian inamorato! Won’t you love, love my empty soul? Efflorescence, swollen heart, my mind games will make you start whispering sweet nothings; do not let us fall apart. Oh, won’t you be my lover? Hiding in this Indian summer. Envy, envy in my eyes, crystals shine in the night sky. You can try to run away. My heart will never be afraid. Darkness is our inclination, stars are forming center stage. Cimmerian inamorato! Won’t you love, love my empty soul? Efflorescence, swollen heart, my mind games will make you start whispering sweet nothings; do not let us fall apart. Pale lullabies seize the night! Until you listen to my plight. Darling, darling, come to me. Let me be your lady please. Cimmerian inamorato! Won’t you love, love my empty soul? Efflorescence, swollen heart, my mind games will make you start whispering sweet nothings; do not let us fall apart. Do not let us fall apart. Don’t you ever break my heart.
Her lips were stained with poison words, her life brought darkness close to her and she felt no happiness inside.

One, now two together, I'm just waiting for the day; that one I asked the Ouija board to send will come my way.

SPOTLIGHT #3 : Palm Reader
"Palm Reader" was written when I was working at an old book store. I worked alone and had a lot of time to myself. The store itself was like something out of a novel; it was poorly lit, slightly chaotic and almost always empty because hardly anyone ever came in. On one particular slow day, I went to the back of the store where we kept the New Age section and started reading about Palmistry. With this concept still fresh in mind, a few days later a boy walked into the store and I found him oddly alluring. I don't normally get breathless when I see strangers, but he was so handsome in demeanor and physical appearance that he completely took me off guard. Long story short, we struck up enough conversation for me to find out he was a Gemini (you'll hear about that in the song) but after that initial encounter I never saw him again.
In the end, he may have inspired the song, but it evolved greatly from there. It now echoes any sort of enchanting meeting one might have with a stranger and I incorporated the "Palm Reader" aspect because I always thought the idea of having one's future love life predicted was a thrilling idea. Musically speaking, the song is haunting, amorous and lush in orchestral sound. The musical 3/4 ending (the waltz part) finishes the story, but also leaves it in mystery. The song ends on a "diminished" chord, leaving the listener "hanging". I wanted to leave it up to the audience whether or not the two lovers found each other or whether it was all a dream.
