yay ask memes and sleepovers! how are medical studies going for you? or are you out now? o: it's been like three years since I dropped by your ask and I've since graduated from college with a double major and am in grad school to get a phd in essentially genomics which i'm pumped but also super anxious about lol. and i'm crushing on a guy i probably shouldn't be crushing on and it's spiraling out of control help

so like you're the first person I could think of who would totally appreciate this and i don't know if you remember me but I study biomedical engineering and for our systems bioengineering class our homework problems this week have a rather extensive reference to Vulcan and Human-Vulcan halfbreeds (and their sodium ion channels...) and I'm screaming about it omg help (plus this is after our professor referenced picard and also several bruce lee movies)

this may be the greatest thing I’ve heard today omg??

idk why i'm so amused that you're a 19 year old hk girl running a massive/popular mostly-marvel blog and likes the star trek movies. maybe cause i'm a 19 year old hk-born-and-bred girl (live in the u.s. of a. now though) currently obsessed with trek and likes marvel very much but yeah idk i'm just amused. and i overanalyze things.

I understand you being so amused because I sometimes wondering that myself too (not the popular part because I'm not). Tumblr and Star Trek are not that popular in Hong Kong and that makes me kinda weird among my friends. Being amused is good. And wow living in usa now, awesome! (gonna go there for exchange someday)

I'd been bored in my research lab but my professor knew and she just gave me a second more interesting project to look into. on the path to helping cure cancer. check. also tonight is the first college summer party for me and all my good friends who are around are going so I'm super excited to see them!! (this is a lovely idea by the way, you should post yours too!)

speaking as a rising junior engineering student. yes. death. and I empathize but don’t sympathize if that makes sense. (at least I’m not like half of my class who are pre-med AND engineering) good luck though!

my brother is very seriously eyeing fancy grinders and espresso machines now that he has a real job and living in an apartment.. I want him to get them already so I can use them when I visit hahaha (I just have a super basic grinder and cheap french press at college with me)

ooh yes goad him into it

leave subtle reminders around his apartment. espresso-maker ads on the kitchen counter. coffee beans littering his carpet.

we've got a cheap drip coffee maker at the house, and an ultra-cheap espresso machine that we never use (the milk tastes like plastic when you steam it blech). i get good coffee at work, but that's about it
