KATSUKI BAKUGO ONESHOT #3
“Be straight” ...... “I can’t.”
Summary: In honor of Pride Month, this is an entry I have. Pansexual! Reader x Bisexual! Katsuki Bakugo. The reader has scoliosis and is helping her husband to promote his newly released spicy sauce and new restaurant in a promotional interview. When Reader is helping him with the plating while Katsuki cooks, Katsuki notices her posture and says… “Be straight.” Pairing: Bi! Katsuki Bakugo x Pan! Reader Contents: talks of LGBTQIA+, reader here is more on feminine side(i base her on me okay, so suck it up), pan! reader is part of Bakusquad (and to me Bakusquad includes Bakugo, Kirishima, Mina, Kaminari, Sero, and Jirou), the use of Bakugo and Bakugou interchangeably, use of Y/N instead of (Yourname) cuz well it’s shorter and kinda more convenient for me, Bakugo here dated Izuku before reader and in this story deku/izuku is no. 4 hero while Katsuki is back on being no. 5 hero. Reader and Bakugo is in a committed relationship and no it’s not an open relationship, it’s pretty close cuz both of them doesn’t like sharing each other to other people but they both agree on finding and crushing on hot/cute people. You as reader is married to world’s angriest pomeranian.
PS: Your dear author is very confuse on her sexuality herself, but I have dated both lesbian women and straight men, so I’m pretty sure I’m queer, though I don’t really come out, so yeah, please be kind, and also I got hooked on the bisexual Katsuki headcannons, so yeah.
Reader’s pronouns are she/her/they, while Katsuki’s pronouns are he/him (think of him as more dom than reader okay)
The interview had been going surprisingly well.
Which was honestly suspicious.
Katsuki Bakugo wasn't exactly known for his patience with reporters.
Yet somehow, sitting in the demonstration kitchen of his newly-opened restaurant, he looked almost relaxed.
Almost.
The giant banner behind them advertised his newest business venture.
DYNAMIGHT'S INFERNO"Hotter Than Hell."
Beside it sat several bottles of his newly released spicy sauce line.
The interviewer smiled nervously.
"So, Dynamight, congratulations on both the restaurant opening and your new sauce collection."
"Yeah, yeah."
Katsuki stirred something aggressively.
"Thanks."
The interviewer laughed awkwardly.
Across from him, Y/N was arranging plates for the cameras.
She had been dragged here voluntarily.
Which meant Katsuki had absolutely bullied her into helping.
His words.
"You already eat my food. Might as well work for it."
Marriage was beautiful.
Y/N carefully reached for another garnish.
The cameras followed her movements.
She was part of the promotional campaign anyway.
People loved seeing them together.
The Number Five Hero and his equally chaotic wife.
Katsuki glanced over while seasoning a steak.
Then paused.
His eyebrows furrowed.
The interviewer continued talking.
"So what inspired this restaurant?"
Katsuki ignored him.
Instead, he stared at Y/N.
The weird angle of her shoulders.
The slight curve of her back.
The way she was leaning over the counter.
His face scrunched.
"Oi."
Y/N looked up.
"Hm?"
"Be straight."
The room went silent.
The interviewer blinked.
The camera crew blinked.
Y/N blinked.
Then immediately burst out laughing.
"Katsuki."
"What?"
"You know I can't."
"Oh."
He stared.
"...Right."
The realization hit him.
The scoliosis.
The entire room exploded into laughter.
Even the cameraman snorted.
Katsuki groaned and rubbed his face.
"That's not what I meant."
"You literally told your pansexual wife to be straight."
"I MEANT YOUR POSTURE."
The interviewer nearly fell out of his chair.
Y/N was crying from laughter now.
The camera operator was shaking.
The producer behind the monitor looked seconds away from passing out.
Katsuki looked genuinely offended.
"Why are all of you laughing?"
"Because," Y/N wheezed, "that's the funniest thing you've ever said."
"It isn't."
"It absolutely is."
"It isn't."
"It absolutely is."
Katsuki clicked his tongue.
The interviewer attempted to regain professionalism.
Failed.
Spectacularly.
"Well," he said between laughs, "considering it's Pride Month, the timing is incredible."
Y/N grinned.
"It really is."
Katsuki buried his face in his hands.
"This interview is over."
"It literally isn't."
"Should be."
The interviewer wiped tears from his eyes.
"Actually, since Pride Month was mentioned..." He smiled.
"You two have always been very open about supporting the LGBTQIA+ community." Y/N immediately sat beside Katsuki.
"Of course."
The interviewer nodded. "Would you mind talking about that?"
Katsuki shrugged. "Not much to talk about."
Y/N snorted. "That's a lie."
"It isn't."
"You literally dated Izuku."
"AND?"
The interviewer choked.
The camera crew looked delighted.
Katsuki glared.
"What?"
Y/N smiled sweetly.
"You dated Izuku."
"Yeah."
"You had matching keychains."
"So?"
"You wrote him a love letter."
"It was one letter."
"You sprayed it with cologne."
Katsuki looked horrified.
"WHY DO YOU REMEMBER EVERYTHING?"
"Because it's adorable."
"It isn't."
"It absolutely is."
The interviewer was rapidly losing control of the conversation.
Again.
"So..." he said carefully.
"You identify as bisexual?"
"Yeah."
Katsuki answered without hesitation.
Simple.
Matter-of-fact.
Like discussing the weather.
The interviewer turned to Y/N.
"And you're pansexual?"
"Yep."
She smiled.
"Always have been."
The interviewer nodded.
"What was it like discovering that about yourselves?"
Y/N leaned against Katsuki's shoulder.
He immediately relaxed.
"Honestly?"
She thought for a moment.
"Confusing."
"Same," Katsuki admitted.
The interviewer looked surprised.
Katsuki shrugged.
"What?"
"I just mean..."
The interviewer hesitated.
"You're very confident."
"I am now."
Katsuki corrected.
"But figuring yourself out?"
He scoffed.
"That's messy."
Y/N nodded.
"Especially when people keep trying to put you into boxes."
"Exactly."
The interviewer smiled.
"So how did that affect your relationship?"
Y/N and Katsuki immediately answered together.
"It didn't."
They looked at each other.
Then laughed.
"Seriously," Y/N said.
"Being pan doesn't mean I want everybody."
"And being bi doesn't mean I can't commit."
Katsuki added.
The interviewer nodded.
"A lot of people still misunderstand that."
"Yeah."
Y/N rolled her eyes.
"The amount of times someone has assumed we're in an open relationship just because we're queer..."
"Drives me insane."
Katsuki finished.
"Like damn."
Y/N laughed.
"We can appreciate attractive people."
"Doesn't mean we're bringing them home."
"Exactly."
The interviewer looked amused.
"So you two point out attractive people together?"
"All the time."
Y/N answered immediately.
Katsuki nodded.
"Every day."
The interviewer stared.
"Really?"
"Yesterday."
Y/N pointed.
"We saw a firefighter."
Katsuki immediately nodded.
"Good jawline."
"Excellent jawline."
"Fantastic jawline."
The interviewer looked like he regretted asking.
The camera crew looked thrilled.
"Meanwhile," Y/N continued.
"My husband still acts like a jealous cat whenever someone flirts with me."
"I do not."
"You absolutely do."
"I don't."
"You glared at a waiter last week. He’s hot btw."
"He called you pretty."
"Because I am."
"Exactly."
The interviewer nearly dropped his cue cards.
Y/N looked victorious.
Katsuki looked betrayed.
The interview somehow continued.
Eventually the conversation shifted back toward the restaurant.
Food.
Business.
The spicy sauce.
Things were finally becoming professional again.
Then Y/N stood to grab another plate.
Immediately she winced.
A tiny movement.
Barely noticeable.
Except Katsuki noticed everything.
His eyes narrowed.
"Back hurting?"
Y/N froze.
"A little."
The interviewer stopped speaking.
Katsuki set down the pan.
"Sit."
"I'm fine."
"Sit."
"Katsuki."
"Y/N."
The warning tone appeared.
Everyone recognized it.
The tone that said he was pretending not to worry.
Which meant he was absolutely worried.
Y/N sighed.
Then sat.
Satisfied, Katsuki grabbed the remaining plates himself.
The entire crew watched.
The Number Five Hero.
One of the most intimidating men in Japan.
Carefully arranging herbs on a plate because his wife was uncomfortable.
The interviewer smiled.
"You care about her a lot."
Katsuki looked offended.
"What kind of stupid question is that?"
Y/N laughed.
The interviewer laughed.
Even Katsuki eventually laughed.
A little.
Very little.
Near the end of filming, the interviewer asked one final question.
"What would you say to young LGBTQIA+ people watching this?"
The room became quieter.
Y/N glanced at Katsuki.
He glanced back.
Then nodded.
Go ahead.
Y/N smiled softly.
"If you're still figuring yourself out..."
She folded her hands.
"That's okay."
The room listened.
"You don't need to have every answer right now."
Katsuki nodded.
"And don't let other people decide who you are."
Y/N smiled.
"Exactly."
The interviewer looked touched.
Katsuki crossed his arms.
"People spend too much time trying to fit into somebody else's expectations."
"And not enough time being themselves."
Y/N finished.
The interviewer nodded.
"That's wonderful advice."
Katsuki shrugged.
"It's common sense."
"It isn't for everyone."
Y/N replied.
For a moment, the two of them simply looked at each other.
Years together.
Marriage.
Friendship.
Trust.
Love.
Everything sitting comfortably between them.
The interviewer smiled.
"Last question."
Y/N groaned.
"That wasn't the last question?"
"No."
The interviewer grinned.
"Y/N."
"Yeah?"
"If Katsuki told you right now to be straight, what would you say?"
The entire room erupted before she could even answer.
Y/N laughed so hard she nearly fell out of her chair.
Meanwhile Katsuki immediately realized his mistake.
Again.
"Oh, come on."
The cameras zoomed in.
Y/N wiped tears from her eyes.
Then smiled.
Looked directly into the camera.
And answered:
"I can't."
The room exploded.
And somewhere in the distance, Katsuki Bakugo considered setting every camera in Japan on fire.
