20) do you write in long sit-down sessions or in little spurts? Unless I’ve got the idea ready to go, it’s usually in little spurts. My last fic I actually wrote in one long sit-down session and then went back and edited in little spurts, so I guess it really depends.

25) copy/paste a few sentences or a short paragraph that you’re particularly proud of. Okay, this one is tough. I chose a little scene from one of my WIPs that I swear I’ll finish someday:

Greg moved closer to him and rested his head on Nick’s shoulder. “This isn’t an ultimatum or anything like that, but will you promise me that we’ll revisit this conversation? I’d really like us to last longer than six months and at some point I’d love to let people know that I’m the one who took Nick Stokes, hottest CSI, off the market.”

Nick laughed. “Alright.”

“So you agree that you’re the hottest CSI?” Greg asked as he pulled away and got under the covers. 

Nick blushed and laughed nervously. “I, uh…”

“So modest,” Greg teased, holding the covers up in invitation. Nick laid down beside him, tentatively touching their foreheads together. Greg pressed his body close to Nick and kissed him slowly.

Nick broke it off and pulled back a little to look at Greg. “Just for the record, I’d like us to last longer than six months, too.”

Let’s see. This idea originally came when I thought I could write things for the Cold Open Challenge. I just have a few notes in a doc. It’s v like Grave Danger, in that there’s a plexiglass box buried, except that’s Mac and Jack are trapped together and the bad guy only planned for one.

Jack grabs James by the lapels of his fancy shirt and lets his right hook do the work. James looks up at him from the concrete, surprised on the flat of his back, holding his jaw.

“This isn’t about fear, you idiot.” Jack grits out between his teeth. “For some kind of genius, you sure don’t know shit about how to be a human being. Your son, your flesh and blood child. Lost. A fucking. Arm. You don’t just walk that off. He almost died, his whole world got torn apart and he’s having to figure out how to start over. He doesn’t need you or anyone else for that matter filling his head up with ideas of what normal should look like. He’s just starting to get some ground under his feet again and he doesn’t need this or you for that matter to fuck it up for him. Stay away from him.”
