Me: My house is pretty clean.
My mom: And your aunt wants to stop by to see your Christmas decorations.
Me, grabbing a scrub brush: Well, here we go, I guess.

Cleaning up with a Christmas Gnome hat is way more fun.
I just realized my dad and step mom will be here this up coming Friday and I am NOT READY.
My dad is extremely judgmental. I can already picture him complaining that my house smells like dog, that Zs stuff is everywhere, that she eats too many snacks.... And then all the things out my control but will somehow be made to be my fault: that there are homeless people downtown, that he didn't see a moose, that the fish isn't good. I don't know.
My mom gives me shit for visiting him or having him visit. She says its "too much". But when we get along it's so good, we have such a good time. I never know which version I'll get- one who is funny, interested in trying new things, nostalgic. Or will he be short, quick to judge, and compare me to the daughter he wanted.
I panic-cleaned my room because my Brain went “I REFUSE TO LOOK AT ANY OBJECTS ANYMORE” and literally just stuffed everything out of sight and most of it is just in a pile on my closet floor but also
I aparently put the duct tape on top off the fan
I'm panic cleaning my room because I'm avoiding my remaining grief over my grandfathers passing and also in dealing with the massive anxiety I feel.... And my cats are puzzled and keep coming in and out to sniff and explore my room cause I've moved a bunch of stuff around.
Back to the grind.
I’m pretty proud of the panic cleaning that just happened because even though I really didn't want to clean or entertain, I invited E over after nap because it'll be nice to talk to another adult today.
Kitchen: clean (including the fucking stove top)
Living room: cleaned enough.
Vacuumed and swept.
Bathroom: clean & new air freshener in there.
Litterbox: clean.
Finished yesterdays laundry, but have not folded it.
And now I have roughly two hours before the monsters get up and E comes over.
I’m gonna ate my uncrustable, drink my sparkling water and write some fan fiction.
Nothing makes a home cleaner than when company is coming.
