These Mozzarella Apple Paninis have crisp apple slices, sweet honey, and tangy whole grain mustard. They are pressed between slices of sourdough bread and are a treat for the taste buds.
Ingredients: 4 slices of sourdough bread. 1 medium apple, thinly sliced. 8 ounces of fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced. 2 tablespoons of honey. 2 tablespoons of whole grain mustard. 2 tablespoons of butter.
Instructions: Preheat a panini press or grill pan over medium heat. Spread honey on one side of each slice of bread. On the other side of half the slices, spread mustard. Layer apple slices and mozzarella cheese onto the mustard-coated slices. Top with the remaining slices of bread, honey-side down, to form sandwiches. Spread butter on the outsides of the sandwiches. Place sandwiches on the preheated panini press or grill pan. Cook until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
