he wasnât even sure where he had been heading at that specific moment in time. some part of him felt like he had to explore, but what could be smart about wandering around the heckinâ tundra for hours on end? then there were the buildings, some of which heâd already been inside if only just to poke his head in, but still there was something missing. naturally, the only thing he was truly looking for were friends. recognisable faces amongst the crowds of strangers. heâd even began checking the ground every once in a while, privately hoping for a cat-like print to make itself known.
ryuji wasnât really dressed for icy adventures. luckily he had a jacket at least, but he wasnât used to this climate, this harsh and bitter sort that made his cheeks feel as if they had been repeatedly slapped. still, he wandered out beneath the thin sliver of evening lights and looked both up and down and then back up and back down one of the roads leading to the cabins. nothing. it was frustrating, so incredibly weird and unsettling how he recognised no-one at all. wasnât it strange that after so long of being alone, he had grown so used to it, but as of late had always had friends there and now suddenly could not handle that same loneliness he knew so well?
in fact, it was so frustrating that, with both hands firmly planted in his pockets, ryuji slouched over to a rather large pile of snow with the intent to kick it all to pieces. as he swung his leg back and forth, his toe knocking the snow into crumbling piles, his loud grunting echoed in the night. his yells of impatience and irritation bounced from the windows of the cabin and off of the icy slopes surrounding him. and when that pile was done, he moved onto the next. â what am i DOING HERE. âÂ
he began kicking the larger pile, but this time the snow fought back. like an avalanche it came crashing down, half burying him in the onslaught of cold and damp snow. his head and chest remained free, leaving him wiggling underneath the mound as he yelled out.
â ARGHHHHHHH!! GET THE HELL OFF OF ME! â
