That awkward moment when you write a phenomenal college essay about how someone you look up to uses his fame for good
And then some whore on Twitter makes a comment about how he uses his fame to be a terrible influence
The masks are off
...and yet the MCRyans still refuse to wipe the diarrhea out of their eyes and finally see the ugly faces who were already showing through those masks for a long, long time and were clearly visible for the ones protecting themselves from the flood of shit ever since the first day they had that vomit-inducing stench of liquid feces in their nose. Do you remember when I said that Gerard Way's (Twitter) shenanigans were rather tame compared to the vitriol and sick-minded tirades of hatred his band member Frank Iero aka Foul Gnome uses to spout off? Well, Gerard obviously couldn't handle watching Frank claiming all the glory for being a misogynistic asshole. He had to do something to get recognized. Gerard Way won't be ignored, people!
Of course, his coward self had to use one of his alter egos to gather enough strength to do a test run on how far he can go and how people would react or if they would react at all. I guess you've all heard about that ominous tweet that Gerard Way aka Party Poison supposedly sent to a female Twitter user. People on the internet claimed that he had called her the c-word, but until recently there was no proof to be found. It seemed as if nobody had screencapped this tweet and the MCRyans who might have done it most likely would be damned if they had posted evidence of that tweet somewhere and thus give those jeluz h8erz further ammunition to attack the shining light that is Gerard Way for them. However, evidence was found, finally, but let's start at the beginning: To create buzz among the fans on Twitter for the new album 'Danger Days', several characters of the fictional Killjoy universe started posting tweets using their respective profiles. Since Gerard's Killjoy alter ego is named Party Poison it should be obvious that the identically named Twitter profile was used by him.
As you can see by the people which follow that Party Poison account there is someone called NewsAGoGo among them who's also another fictional character of the Killjoy universe. Neither of those accounts are following anyone but the other fictional characters, but they were being followed by Ray Toro and Frank Iero. I mention this just to make sure that those accounts weren't created by fans since the names of those characters and specific catch phrases they used in their tweets just as 'Look alive, Sunshine' couldn't have been known to the fans prior to the release of the album teaser, the album itself or associated interviews introducing the album's concept and said characters. I bet that a lot of the MCRyans would argue that all of those profiles were used by Warner employees rather than Gerard himself or any of the other people acting as the respective characters (f. e. Steve Righ? of Mindless Self Indulgence as Dr. Death Defying), but I would argue that this wouldn't make much sense since I'm quite certain that at least Gerard wouldn't have let another person but himself portray the character Party Poison on Twitter and thus have creative control over his own invention. And why should somebody not creatively and emotionally involved in that Killjoy hype call someone the c-word for allegedly leaking the album title? Although even this would not be an excuse to react that way!!! The discussion about this had pretty much died down since there was no proof in form of discussed tweet, but as you can see now on this site the proof, the tweet in which Gerard Way aka Party Poison called a girl the c-word has been preserved, although he deleted it immediately as Gerard always does when he realizes that he posted something on the internet for the whole world to see which is obviously contradictory and counteractive to his claims of being interested in women's equality and making people think that he's really concerned about how women are treated and portrayed in this society. Um, sure. You're a real feminist, Gerard. I don't want this to sound as if I'm happy to show you that tweet. I'm not happy to have to show you any of those tweets at all. I'm always asking myself what's worse; someone who never hides that they're an asshole and openly shows you their hatred and disgust towards other people or someone who claims to be a good person who seems to be concerned about equality, respect and dignity for people to only turn around and show you their real self, their ugly face without the mask on? To me, the worst is clearly the latter. With the former you at least know what you're dealing with and don't need to waste your time (and money) on someone who you thought would be worth supporting when in reality you support someone who's working against you. Unfortunately, Gerard Way didn't stop with above shown tweet. I really don't know what his problem is? I really would like to know his definiton of feminism or equality. I really would like to know why he is so obsessed with teenagers? He stated in many interviews that inside he's still a 16-year-old teenage boy. I guess he had a lot of problems as a 16-year-old boy. Maybe, he was widely ignored by girls the same age which is why he has to lash out at them now? We all know how obsessed he is with revenge. We also know how pissed off the whole band is for being ridiculed for mostly having teenage girls as fans and thus will not be taken seriously by other bands, musicians, the media and male fans. The thing is, if they would stop making those concept albums with those made up stories about their alter egos saving the world or whatever it is they do they probably would be taken seriously by others, BUT the truth is, nobody wants to listen to them even when they drop all the clownery as we all witnessed with their pathetic attempt of being a 'raw garage punk band' completely stripped off any gimmicks, theatrics, costumes, alter egos and alternate universes. Not even the teenage girls cared. Yeah, that was successful. So, it really must suck if you know that you are depended on the attention and the money of those loathsome teenage girls. That they are your bread and butter and that it is them who make you somewhat relevant in the music business, but still they keep you from having that rock credibility. How much Gerard and his lot must hate them. So much that this is what his Twitter profile showed:
So, according to his Twitter biography Gerard is not afraid to call a 16-year-old a c-word or a shitbag. Oh, how dangerous you are, Gerard. Messing with people on the internet who are 18 years your junior. Now, that's brave and so mature. Naturally for his idiotic fans, after shit had hit the fan (literally) they had to point out to me that he didn't even specify if he meant 16-year-old girls or boys. Yeah, as if that would make such a difference, you fools! It doesn't matter at all if he says it to a girl or a boy or even a door knob! He shouldn't use that word at all!!! Other idiots used to argue like this. Of course, I used my Twitter account to call him out on his blatant misogyny
and even before he answered me I was being bombarded with tweets by the so-called MCRmy defending their hero and trying to intimidate me. Imagine how much time they must waste per day to type @gerardway in the search bar to be able to read all of those tweets addressed to him and then pick out the ones they don't agree with to bully those users as Gerard's or MCR's army. What's even more unbelievable is that it shows that Gerard Way still refuses to notice and correct one of his biggest mistakes he made as a person with a big following and a big influence on said following by christening his obviously mostly mentally unstable fans the MCRmy. I don't believe that, by now, he didn't realize that this martial term is used to give his fans the right to attack, harrass and threaten other people who don't worship on the altar of MCR and do not condone and accept absolutely everything the band members say or do by thinking that through that term, that by calling them the MCRmy Gerard and the others have given them permission to do so and that the whole band accepts this and even urges them to behave that way to show them how devoted a fan they are. I would have thought that after the band was linked to the suicide of 13-year-old Hannah Bond and the thus revived discussion of how music artists might influence their respective fans the band members would have learned something. It doesn't suffice to just generally distance oneself in interviews from statements, messages and promises that were made without going into detail as to what exactly was wrong with it or why it turned out to be a wrong concept to follow and not blame other people again for megalomanic goals that never could have been achieved in the first place.
But all people found was death and destruction and misery and self-hate. I learned that the world doesn't want to be saved, and it will fucking punch you in the face if you try. - Gerard Way
Well, just because you changed your band's black attire for a clown-esque colored one it doesn't mean that anything has changed. It doesn't mean that suddenly the sun is shining out of your ass bathing the world in a rosy light and makes everything rainbows and kittens. It also doesn't mean that your fans have magically forgotten about all the things you promised them or pretended to be for them. If you would take a look at the tweets I've been receiving, dear Gerard, you would realize that they still think that you saved their lives and that they still think that they owe you because of that. They still think that because of that they have the right to threaten, bully and harrass other people who speak out against you and your band. The Black Parade has only been replaced by the Killjoys. Same shit, different colors!!! THIS is your doing, Gerard. THIS is your responsibility. And if all of this should someday exceed the typical internet verbal duels (which are sometimes worse enough for the victims of your army and can already lead to anxiety, depression or even self-harm) and affect the real lives of your fans' victims in a way that they would not only be verbally but also physically abused, then it is YOU who will be held accountable for that, Gerard Way. And this Tumblr will be here to prove this.
But I digress.
As mentioned above, I already received messages by the MCRyans because of my two tweets I had sent to Gerard. Surprisingly, a few of those people were supporting my opinion. Others, however, were trying to defend his misogynistic statement - which he had then already deleted - with the stupidest reasons ever read by a human being. This is what really scares the crap out of me! The blatant stupidity of those fans and what unbelievable nonsense they make up to defend the band members' actions. If you're a teenager you are old enough to understand that misogyny is not okay, that discriminating against any human being is not okay and that it is neither excuseable with anything nor acceptable and that it is not a triviality! Otherwise, I'm forced to think that you either deliberately act stupid or really are stupid! And if you're already an adult and still don't understand that misogyny is wrong I can only hope that you won't pass on your stupidity by procreating.
One of those people who either act stupid or really are stupid sent me this:
Of course. He slipped up. Interesting that Gerard only DARES to slip up by using misogynistic language. And it's even more interesting by reminding oneself that he still can't shut up about wanting to fight sexism and the objectification of women in particular. And that is why it matters so much! It's like remembering people all the time how important it is to speak out against racism, but then telling the same people that you're not afraid to call someone the n-word. At least, she admitted that he used an insulting word. That's a start. I replied to her with following tweets (read from the bottom up):
Apparently, Gerard reads tweets addressed to him. The funny thing is that he (at least not to my knowledge) almost never replies to nice tweets (only if he has to suck up to his fans to make them find a muscle car for him or buy the band's album or merch) but very often to the ones that tick him off. Take note, fan sheep. If you want to get a reply by your herder then you'll have to piss him off instead of kissing ass.
Anyway, the next day when I checked my usual sites while having breakfast I realized that a shit storm of epic insanity had taken place on Twitter while I was sound asleep. The first thing I noticed was that I had gained about 20 new followers over night which made me scratch my head in confusion (they became even more after I replied to their overlord's threat). One of my new followers posted this on her Tumblr which actually made me realize that Gerard Way had responded to my above displayed tweet with this:
Wow!!! Just wow!!! I bet that by now you can find this profile picture by looking up the definition of the words insanity and hypocrisy in a dictionary.
What surprised me the most about this moronic, thoughtless tweet of epic proportions was the #dieslow hashtag. I'm wondering if it had turned out that I was a cancer patient really dying slowly of that gruesome disease what Mr. 'My head is just a cavity sealing' Way would have said then? As someone who used this disease for years as a marketing ploy in the most distasteful way to promote his album 'The Black Parade' (and thus should at least have somewhat of a clue of what having to die slowly actually means for a human being) and also as someone who (as already mentioned above) was linked to a girl's suicide it is absolutely incomprehensible how this 34-year-old grown man can be so completely oblivious to what he's spouting off for the whole public to see. Without even thinking twice! Gerard's (and also Frank's) tweets show how little control he seems to have over his affects. I'm really wondering what life must be like for a person who doesn't seem to be able to accept criticism? I'm also wondering if this is why fame is so important for those people? If they were so naive to think that at a certain level of fame criticism wouldn't affect them anymore or don't reach them anymore? Or if fame itself would prevent any kind of criticism? That they would become untouchable? I guess I am really overestimating this man's mental sanity, his maturity and his intellect. After Gerard had wished me a slow death a female Twitter user had this to say to him:
I don't really know what to think of that person (actually, I do). She spoke out against Gerard wanting to smash my face which was nice of her, but from what I could gather so far reading her Formspring and her Tumblr she doesn't seem to mind Gerard's misogyny and even thinks that I'm just as bad as him (uh, what???) and that my tweets to him were way out of line and that I wrote 'ridiculous shit to him'.
So, violence is bad, but misogyny is still a-okay! Good that we cleared that up, folks! That both, misogyny and violence, often go hand in hand because hatred towards women often leads to those women being physically abused doesn't seem to occur to her. I don't have to tell you here how it amazes me that misogyny seems to be so usual for girls and women and that many of them only speak out (if ever) if they experienced something bad first hand (as seen above, the girl/woman claims to have experienced domestic abuse for two years) and still are so eager to forgive if the guy is only handsome enough (although she claims that she has lost respect for Gerard there are still a lot of pictures of him being posted on her Tumblr long after things happened on Twitter. Hmmmm.). It's really as if those girls/women would think 'Oh, it's not a big deal. As long as the boy/man who disrespects me is hot I don't mind it that much.' What I find extremely absurd is that MCRyans congratulate her for standing up to Gerard, but both, she and her supporters, think that I am totally out of my mind. Seriously, I gladly would have done without this kind of support. Well, Gerard must have been really bored that night/day because it seems like he had only waited for someone else to piss him off so that he could tweet this:
Oh, look, another hashtag! Now it is #smashedface and not #dieslow. Still equally insane. What's even more disturbing is that Gerard knowingly created those hashtags because he wanted them to be retweeted by his minions. I can't believe that this person is a father. Someone, who should know what responsibility means. Not only towards his child, but also towards himself and towards his mostly very young and very impressionable fans. Someone, who should be capable of self-reflection to realize that what he does has consequences, especially since he's a celebrity with having people hanging on his every word and see it as their gospel. Honestly, if someone behaves so irresponsible in public and doesn't feel ashamed or responsible at all of what he's saying then how can you think that he would behave completely different in his private life where only a small circle of people were to witness his behavior? I think it's comparable to an abuser who's not afraid to act abusive in public. How would they even act in their own four walls? And if Gerard starts not to care anymore about what people think if he uses the c-word in public, then you can imagine how frequently he uses that word in private. Surely, I had to reply to him. I have to admit that I was really surprised that he had posted a response to my tweet, but, evidently, he didn't address his misogyny or his obvious hypocrisy but seemed to feel threatend about my tweet in which I mentioned that he would get his pancake ass beat if he would dare to 'keep it ugly' by being racist instead of misogynistic. Obviously, this was meant to clarify that people use to react much stronger to racist acts as to misogynistic ones and since racism doesn't only affect girls and women that they most likely wouldn't let him off the hook by only telling him off. It is not my problem that an alleged college graduate is too stupid to understand what he reads, but I thought to myself that if he is out for a fight then he can have one:
Well, with an alcoholic who admits to drink alcohol again it isn't far-fetched for me to think that he was intoxicated while writing those tweets, although this would almost sound like an excuse for his actions. Still, even if he was drunk he doesn't seem to mind what he did because, to this day, both tweets are still on his site. Of course, many fan sheep complained that mentioning his alcohol problem was a 'very low blow' of me. It's really funny that they don't mind me being threatened with violence and being wished a slow death. They don't even consider Gerard Way knowingly and willingly inciting all of his almost 200.000 followers on Twitter to also threaten me with violence and to also wish me a slow death to be a low blow of epic proportions, but when I tell it like it is, namely that their crazy overlord is an alcoholic and was probably drunk off his crazy ass while writing this, they get all butthurt and whine about how mean, mean, mean I am. Boo-hoo. What followed all of the above was a clusterfuck of extreme absurdity and I think I have/want to address some of the misunderstandings and absurdities here: Apparently, both sides, the one who disagrees (to put it mildly) with my view on things and the one who supports it think that I'm a (16-year-old) teenage girl. Um, nope. I don't know why people think that I have to be a 16-year-old myself if I speak up for them? It doesn't matter if I'm 16 or 34 (which I am), the c-word is degrading for every female, no matter what age. Of course, maybe both sides think that only 16-year-olds are aware of the highly idiotic and offensive shit Gerard Way is spouting off on Twitter. However, when I read people's discussions about what had happened between me and him I noticed that even if some disagreed with what I had tweeted to and about Gerard prior to his reply they thought that he shouldn't have threatened a 16-year-old girl with smashing her face. Reading this I was wondering if they would still have thought that way if they had known that I wasn't a teenager anymore. At least to me, it seems that most people have less problems to support a person if they think that they're underage and thus need special protection and still have that alleged innocence that can be projected onto them. It reminds me a bit about the feeling I get when people talk about little girls being victims of rape and show the biggest empathy for them, but when the same thing happens to a grown woman they often tend to think 'She might have deserved it. Maybe, she was mouthing off or wore the wrong clothes.' Apparently, I don't have a life and I should stop the 'bitching' because the c-word is only a word and many people use it all the time and it can only offend you if you give it the power to do so. Interesting! So, the c-word is only a word and it shouldn't offend me then. I don't know how often I've heard stupid excuses like this before. I don't know how many people and especially girls and women say to me that I shouldn't feel offended by misogynistic hip-hop and rap music because it is only music. The funny thing is that I also had this discussion with fans of MCR once who, at the same time, can't stop praising the band and tell everyone who doesn't want to hear how much their music means to them and how it influenced them and saved their lives. Uh-huh, it is only music. Also, I don't know how many times I've read now that people say that we should reclaim words like bitch or the c-word and thus deprive it of its power to degrade us. I think that this is total BULLSHIT!!! The following quote is a comment I read on this site and I totally agree with it:
The problem with thickening one’s skin as a response to racist and sexist language (...) is that it’s not really handling the actual problem. It may make life easier for an individual to be able to ignore insults, but as long as people have the desire to tear into people based on gender, they’ll just come up with new ways to do it when an old one loses it’s [sic] power. - Winter
So, it won't help us reclaiming all those words misogynists will come up with because everytime we would deprive it of its power to hurt us they will find another one. Adding to that, we would only do what has been expected of us women since the beginning of time; that we wouldn't fight injustice, but only adjust to it. Reclaiming words I personally don't want to reclaim and just don't want to use and hear used on me won't change the attitude of the people who hate women. Like Winter says, it will only make the life easier of the individual person (and of the person(s) who deny us equality), but it won't help us getting rid of the actual problem. I also don't think that with shrugging it off if people use misogynistic language on television, in movies, in magazines, on message boards, forums, in comment sections or on the internet in general we would be able to achieve what black people achieved with the n-word. Nobody dares to write that word out. Comments on the internet get deleted or don't get posted in the first place because filters are set to prevent the word from being posted or comment moderators won't allow it. It doesn't even matter if the word is not used as a slur i. e. directed at someone to hurt and offend. I know that many people - even the ones who have agreed with me to a certain point - will read this now and think 'Oh God, now she's off her rocker. I mean, preventing the c-word from being posted, that I can understand, but words like bitch, skank, slut, whore or even son of a bitch or motherfucker etc.? Come on, that's overstepping the mark.' Yes, because the world needs to be allowed to use words and slurs that objectify and marginalize women or make everything that's feminine (or at least what the patriarchy declares as feminine) to something useless, dirty, worthless and stupid. We can somehow do without racist and homophobic slurs, but we need at least one group of people we can ridicule, degrade and despise. There are just not enough neutral curse words to use if wanting to offend and mock a person. After all, we've done so for hundreds of years. So why stop now, right?! NO, NOT RIGHT!!!
Apparently, I'm a misandrist because I called Gerard Way out for being a misogynist. Well, the old 'You have to be a man-hater if you're a feminist' reasoning doesn't die out. Of course, as a feminist you have to be ugly, fat (which equals ugly), you don't have a boyfriend/husband (because you're ugly), you don't have sex (which, allegedly, makes a girl/woman ugly), you will end up as a crazy cat lady (the cats are ugly, too), you will die alone being eaten up by your cats (which means that not only were you ugly while being alive but you also end up as an ugly corpse). So, you're ugly and don't have a man, which means you lack the two crucial things in life that are the only things that make life worth living for every girl and woman. So, if you're ugly and don't have a man you might as well shoot yourself. STOP!!! Not so fast! Relax. Put away that gun, okay. Of course, there's also the possibility of becoming a feminist! Every girl or woman who couldn't manage to end her worthless life by pulling the trigger becomes a feminist because if you're ugly and thus don't get a man you will eventually start hating all men and then automatically start fighting for women's equality. This is a very, very bad cause to be fighting for because it means you want to annoy and harrass (good looking, hot) men for degrading women as (sex) objects and/or deny women the right to live a life that is not full of restrictions based solely on their sex. Bad, really bad feminists. I don't have to mention how ironic it is that all of the people who appear as if they would want to defend Gerard Way and his misogyny to their death are female. Actually, it is not ironic, it is quite sad. Very sad, indeed! It's not as if any girl or woman can say about herself that she is certain that she will never have to experience misogyny in her life and thus won't need something as superfluous as feminism to help them get justice and support.
That she will never be a rape victim and have to hear from others that it's her own fault because she should have known better than wearing that slutty dress which downright screams 'Rape me!'.
That she will never be sexually harrassed on the streets/at her workplace/on the bus or train and will have to hear from others that she should just suck it up and don't make a big fuss about strange men touching her body without permission and/or saying lewd things to her and rather take it as a compliment.
That she won't have disadvantages at work i. e. getting paid less than men with the same qualification or won't even be considered for a job because as a woman she might want to have children someday and thus won't be seen as a desirable candidate for the job due to possible future absent days a male candidate most likely won't have even if he, too, wants to have children someday. That, as a woman, she's considered too emotional and/or sensitive for the job.
That she will never be a victim of domestic abuse because the boy/man she thought would always love and respect her turns out to be a violent beater and that she will never have to hear from others that the boy/man can't be blamed for the violence, since she knew how to push his buttons i. e. being in the wrong place at the wrong time all the time and thus should have known about the consequences.
Sadly, it is very likely that every girl/woman in this world will have to experience at least one of above listed injustices/crimes in her life and that's not nearly all that could be listed. Unfortunately, many girls and women only tend to stand up for their rights if some of those things have happened to them. Some of them don't even realize that they're experiencing/witnessing misogyny because they are so used to being mistreated that they won't even notice it anymore. Some don't even understand that fighting for women's equality is never a lost cause because even if you don't seem to experience discriminiation due to being a woman it doesn't mean that you won't experience it someday and then will need the support and help of other women and men who will fight for you. This is not a one-way street because, unfortunately, you will experience misogyny and then you will look out for the kind of people you used to mock in the past. The problem is that if all of the girls and women have, by then, learned that feminism is not to be taken seriously and nothing worth fighting for you will be waiting very long for someone to help you.
Apparently, I've been harrassing Gerard Way for over two years via Twitter. So according to the MCRyans, having sent six tweets to @gerardway before he threatened to smash my face and wished me a slow death equals harrassment. Wow! If six tweets, of which two were sent in 2009 (!), two were sent on March 12th and the last two were sent on March 13th and March 18th, respectively, mean that I was harrassing Gerard and thus deserve to be threatened with violence, then I really shouldn't be surprised AT ALL about his reaction since I've harrassed him for so long that it was only natural for him to snap and threaten to smash my face and wish me a slow death. It means that I also shouldn't be surprised AT ALL that he had created that #dieslow hashtag deliberately to put his army onto me of which he exactly knew that they would start threatening me with violence and death, too. Wow, again!!! The thing is, if my six tweets already equal harrassment then I don't want to know what those tweets of his fan sheep which are repeatedly sent to him countless times on the same day and that sound like something along the lines of: 'ZOMG, Gerard!!!!111!1! I really have to know what your favorite color is and what your foot smells like or I'm gonna kill myself NOW. Do you hear that, Gerard. I'm really gonna kill myself if you don't tell me. I love you!!11!1 I love you!!111!1!eleventy' can be seen as? To me, THAT is harrassment. I had all the right to call him out on his hypocrisy and misogyny. If Gerard doesn't want to be harrassed by people like me for calling him out on his stupidity than he should use his pea brain and stop writing or saying stupid, misogynistic shit!!! Gerard Way is in the public eye which means that he should be aware of the fact that not only his brainwashed followers listen to and read the verbal diarrhea that comes out of his mouth, but also people with a functioning brain and that they won't let him get away with his idiocy but will speak up about it. It's not my fault that Gerard won't learn of his past mistakes and will finally keep his mouth shut about things he doesn't have a fucking clue about and only sticks to making music and talking about music only!!! Apparently, I deserved to be threatened by Gerard because I had threatened his wife and daughter. I was able to read on a few sites on which people were discussing what happened on Twitter that some idiots claimed that I had threatened Gerard's wife Lindsey and their daughter Bandit (Oh, Lord) prior to his tweet and that he was only defending his family. Well, nobody of those imbeciles cared to check that. Some brainless meat puppet just claimed that and the other morons read it and just ran with it. Of course, it was a convenient excuse for their puppet master's behavior and why should they even check if the claim is true? Somebody wrote it somewhere and this makes it true. It's as simple as that! Life can be so easy sometimes, can't it?! I guess that for many of the fan sheep mentioning his daughter in two of my tweets to him (the first one in which I pitied her for having Gerard as a father and the second one in which I told him that he will change his mind about the misogynistic crap he's posting on his Twitter as soon as his own daughter turns 16) and sending three tweets in a timespan of two years to his wife (one in which I had to tweet her that for someone who just whined in a magazine interview that now everybody thinks of her as Mrs. Gerard Way, she tries to make it damn clear that she is Mrs. Gerard Way on Twitter, one in which I asked her what she thinks of Frank Iero's hilarious abortion tweet and one in which I thanked her that her not answering me was actually an answer) constitutes a threat. Certainly, many of the MCRyans said that I shouldn't have 'dragged his daughter into this'. Well, I have to say to them that Gerard himself dragged her into this. To me, it is the first thing that comes to mind when having to read or listen to people making misogynistic remarks and/or behaving misogynistic towards women and then have daughters who they claim should be treated like princesses and that they are the apple of their eye and who they hope to have all the luck and happiness in the world and achieve everything they want to yadda, yadda, yadda. Too bad that their own parents belong to the people avoiding that luck and happiness and the possibility to achieve everything by behaving the way they do. I, for one, could do without a father or a mother who instead of trying to contribute to a society which treats me with respect and sees women's equality as a given are further reinforcing the notion that women are inferior to men by spouting off misogynistic shit and thus support the mindset that being female or that everything that's considered feminine is something to be ashamed of, something that should be ridiculed, something that's considered dirty and something that's not worthy of being considered equal to everything that's male or considered masculine. If Gerard would have a functioning brain he would think of his daughter and her future. He would think about using his celebrity to fight for a future in which she won't have to come across misogyny anywhere on the internet, in a magazine, newspaper or book, on tv or in movies. That she won't have to care about people trying to make her believe that girls and women are worth less than men. If he had a brain, he would try to be part of the solution and not the problem. Unfortunately, Gerard doesn't use his brain and that's why I pity his daughter! Apparently, I'm a misogynist myself. Reading some of the tweets I have been receiving since all of this happened, there were people accusing me of being a misogynist myself because my tweets to Gerard would imply that I would think that his female fans couldn't take care of themselves, meaning that by telling him that he should stop threatening his fans to call them the c-word if they dare to piss him off I would patronize them by not giving them the choice if they want or don't want to be called that word. According to them, that's misogyny. Do I have to mention that this is total nonsense? And since I am a woman, too, I think I am allowed to speak out about feeling offended by it even if many of the fan sheep don't mind to be called that word. Also, they claimed that my outrage about him threatening me with violence would show that I think that violence towards women should be judged differently than violence towards men. That it would victimize women and that this would be misogyny (and also misandry). See, if this would have been the case about why I was so outraged I would have to agree. Violence is violence and it shouldn't matter who the victim of physical abuse is. Gerard Way's tweet would have been just as despicable if it would have been directed towards a boy/man. The thing is I wasn't outraged because I found his threat of violence misogynistic, I was outraged because that idiot used to speak up against violence. That asshole contradicts everything he used to preach about with posting that brainless shit on Twitter. He's a role model. He exerts his influence via Twitter and he's very well aware of the fact that when he created those disgusting hashtags that the impressionable idiots he has as followers would literally follow suit. That's why I'm outraged!!! I'm outraged because that idiot knows exactly that his equally brainless followers take his idiotic rants as gospel and some of those misguided fans could someday take the shit he says literally and won't see it as black humor anymore but as a request to act and to attack the person he was ticked off by. It's not as if this has never happened before. It's not as if some mentally insane fan has never tried to kill someone to impress their idol. Just ask Jodie Foster. Only that she didn't provoke it. The internet gives all of this a whole new dimension. What's being said by celebrities nowadays can be read, listened to and watched by everyone when they like it and as much as they like it because of the internet. It can be read, listened to and watched even years after those celebrities have said it. What makes it so hard to understand and to realize this? Well, I think that this is what I wanted to clear up. Of course, I reserve the right to add things I might have forgotten to mention. What I mustn't forget to mention is that to top it all of, NME's issue including an interview with MCR was published shortly after Gerard had deleted his biography in which he proudly stated that he's not afraid to call a 16-year-old the c-word. In this interview the idiot had this to say:
I think at this point Gerard is either a brainless moron who thinks it's totally funny to say such things in interviews and then act completely contradictory to what he said or he's a schizophrenic who doesn't have a fucking clue what his multiple personalities are doing and couldn't care less or he really believes the shit that comes out of his mouth and is too fucking stupid to realize that he's exactly like the people he's so vocal about being a non-fan of. What do you think? Lastly, I wanted to get this off my chest:
What I really, really don't understand is that some people call him out for being a misogynist, but still send him birthday wishes and still admit to buying their music, their merch and their concert tickets or even still enjoy their music. WHAT. THE. FUCK???? Please, explain this to me? I really don't understand? It's like they're thinking 'Oh Gerard, I now realized that you were lying all along and that you are as interested in feminism as a dog in getting castrated and that you think that women (i. e. me) are worth less than shit, but still I'm looking forward to seeing you in concert on the blablabla of blablabla. Yay!!!' Really, what the hell??? It's not like they would be so smart to use their power as a consumer to show them that the band's actions have consequences and that there will be repercussions for misogynists as there will be for racists and anti-Semites (and sometimes homophobes). And let's be honest, not earning money with what MCR are doing and realizing that they're not having an audience that swallows everything they're dishing out is what would hurt them the most and make them reconsider. You can tweet and write your articles on your Tumblr, Blogger, LJ, Buzznet etc. etc. declaring your disgust and disappointment until you're blue in the face, but as long as you're still giving them your hard earned money they won't learn!!! And they won't change!!! And why should they? They're still getting what they want. Your money. And that's what only matters to them.
