A6&7 Zine shelf/case made out of an old F&F wallet box
Today I print two of my friend Charlie's zines. At the library computer, I notice the preview shows a significant part of the image is cut off along the long side of the paper. Curious.
I'm frowning, pondering deeply as to what caused this. Then I remember. American and European paper sizes are not the same.
This zine was not made for A4 paper.
I adjust the settings of the printer so that the preview is showing the whole image, albeit with two white bands along the short sides of the paper. I'll have to cut those off.
In my head, all zines are made on A4 paper. But they're not, of course. Not on the other side of the ocean.
this might be an odd question… but do you have a particular size paper you use when drawing? You seem to be able to fit so many details onto your works that I imagine they must be quite big?!
Too many details really, I'm trying to stop overdoing my drawing too much >< Actually, I prefer smaller sizes because then I don't have to sit behind a table to draw and I can carry it around etc. So I use A4 or smaller. But I don't mind using larger papers it's quite freeing feeling but usually someone has to force me to do so.
Just amazing 😍
FireAlpaca includes some pre-installed paper sizes. Is it possible to add new defaults to this list or am I stuck using the history? (e.g. if I draw computer wallpapers frequently)
Just the history section.

What size paper do you most enjoy drawing on ?
I usually draw on something between a4 and a5 but a6 is fine too, I always enjoyed drawing on tiny formats though I now found a liking for bigger ones, about a3 because it’s kind of freeing I guess? But everything bigger than a4 is problematic to manipulate, so that’s it.
Casual reminder that A4 paper is not the same as Letter size. They are fairly close but A4 is a little taller and Letter is a little wider.
A4: 8.25 in by 11.75 in—or 210 mm by 297 mm.
Letter: 8.5 in by 11 in—or 215.9 mm by 279.4 mm.
