TIR, that the ending of Paper Towns is a genius because it quite literally shows the effect of idealization of something or someone. Just as Quentin had idealized a different version of Margo, totally different from who she was; we as readers did the same, assuming that they would be both the characters kissing at sunset, forgetting the entire point of the book. We are dissatisfied by the ending but it shows us how often things are so different from what we perceive them to be.

So the thing I love most about this latest episode of RWBY is that it takes place in a paper town, for those that don’t know a paper town is a fake town used to catch people plagiarizing maps, it’s also used to describe a town that seemingly looks perfect from a distance but is actually kind of in shambles.

It’s a great metaphor for Jaune’s mental state. He’s the hero of a fake town to paper people that he can consistently save to help shield himself from the trauma he’s feeling for being responsible for Penny’s death and to the others he hasn’t been able to save along the way.

In comes team RWBY who’s mere presence there causes the perfect facade Jaune’s crafted to literally fall to shambles. And that forces him and Ruby to actually start processing their grief and frustration about everything they’ve been forced to bottle up the last few volumes.

when I read on John Green book, I wanna read another. But when I come to the 2nd half of the book, I dont wanna know what will happen next but i Have to. I don’t wanna witness someone dying, but I have to know, y’all get me???
