It would be bitter enough to not be able to account for his friends; it is worse still to know for a fact that they are gone, to have heard them die or seen them dead, each of them, and to be standing alone with noone to guide him, stand by his side, make him better and give him purpose and show him why he is fighting, not the against of it all but the for.
The memories he has, though, and they are part of why he stands despite everything, his cause and his hope and his belief and his friends, his friends always and forever.
He hasn’t said goodbyes as such, to any of them, but they had known, especially these last hours, that whatever they say may have to do, as a goodbye, and so they had said goodbyes in all but name.

When a black person states that something you did was racist, chill the fuck out. Its annoying dealing with you panicking trying to dissociate yourself from racism. If you're not black, black people already assume youve said nigga or its variant at least once in your life. If they're interacting with you and bringing something up, its because they want you to stop doing that so they can still interact with you(if ur already friends)
You WILL be racist. You WILL do racist things. You have ALREADY done both. Learn and move on. There's no ideological purity you can hold on to, i promise. Proving you can take the criticism without making it a big deal and practice what you preach is better than any clean slate.
Be the kind of person black people don't have to gamble on. Shut up and lock in
Les mis sketches
Jean Valjean during the last chapters because this part of the book (and the whole brick in general tbh. So as the finale of the musical) absolutely breaks my heart

Top ten things my dad has gotten mad at me for when I grew up
1. Not knowing that A Star is Born with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper was a remake. (Shows young people don’t care about the past at all)
2. Me and my sister liking Hamlet…Idk man.
3. Being angry ( I wasn’t)
4. Being angry (I was)
5. Not visibly enjoying a Queen impersonating band
6. Not being good at setting up my texts nicely in school (because that’s what he is good at so it’s like I haven’t gotten anything from him)
7. Me and my brother playing Papers Please (it’s making a game out of a serious problem in the world and games of course can’t handle serious problems)
8. Sitting down at the British national museum after having walked the entire day and also I was ten
9. Watching Disney Channel (he paid for it?)
10. Crying (because of him)
Barricade day!!!
Happy barricade day everyone!!! Here's a art nouveau enjolras which I worked very hard on, I hope you like it!
The flowers in the back were inspired by Indonesian batik paintings (bc I can't get enough of SEAsian les mis hehe) I've always thought of Enj as someone rlly connected to fire and heat, and what better way to represent that than to be inspired by melting wax? (Batik is made by dripping wax on cloth and dying the non-wax bits; the waxed lineart keeps the original colour of the fabric)
“Long live the Revolution! Long live the Republic! Fraternity! Equality! and Death!”
— Les Misérables, Mabeuf On The Barricade ( Illustrated by Carlo Chiostri, 1930 )
Will we be seeing you on the barricade?
Of course! I've been waiting my whole life for this!
Nah.
Can't we resolve this nonviolently?
The love of my life is leaving me so might as well
I don't have anything better to do so ok
I'm in love with someone else who'll be there so I also have to be there
Yeah, because someone has to stop all these fools from dying
Yes but I'll be undercover for the cops (boo)
Sure, as long as alcohol is provided
@barricadeday
i am unsure if i’m going to finish my barricade day art in time, so instead here’s some photos of jehan prouvaire in the tuacahn production of les mis that has made me sob uncontrollably for 2 hours
played by Thom Henke, the woman comforting jehan is liberty leading the people (quite literally what she’s called in their production) …….. this was also captioned as “jean prouvaire was a lover” which made me absolutely sob, seeing a jehan actor be so emotional and vulnerable on stage is something you never see (and it’s so rare to see an actor care about their characterisation) so….these photos mean a lot to me
The most basic, intractable fact about mental illnesses is that you simply cannot willpower your way out of them. The only exceptions to this rule are the ones I have, which continue to disable me due to lack of determination and other grave personal flaws
“I’m 22 and still haven’t kissed or had sex, what is wrong with me?”—> depression
“I’m a 22 year old activist and still haven’t kissed or had sex, I’m just like Enjolras wow I’m so cool!”—> happiness
Who will hold hands with me this weekend?🔥🔥🔥
Cute activities to do for Pride Month 🌈🏳️🌈:

Rip up paving stones to build a barricade!
Use guerilla tactics to counter the forces of the national guard!
Die in the radiance of the future and enter a tomb all flooded with the dawn!
