It only takes a minute.

The flowers burn out in a second.

The smoke flares and, out of the hearth, he walks. His spurs ring as he steps from the shadows, his boot heels make thunder on the brick.

For a moment Dick can’t see Jason’s face for the black Stetson shading his brow as he bends to step outward. But when he looks up, his eyes shine an unearthly green from below the shadow of the hat brim. Dick remembers his face so clearly, but it hits him like a stab to the heart to see him again. Face marred only by a crooked scar like lightning cut below his left eye. Jason’s smile lifts higher on that side, giving it a crooked nature that used to lead them into mischief. He’s young—as young as the last time Dick watched him breathe. “Richard,” Jason says, and pushes away from the fireplace. He steps clear of the fireplace and his eyes rove Dick’s body, making him feel hot and shy.

I’m continuing my Flash Fiction right now with these lines between Barbara and Dick:

“He looks like shit.”

45) What spurs you on during the writing process

If I’m in a groove, I won’t stop. If I’m not feeling it, then I get nothing done. Also, having my family leaving me to my thoughts helps :)

It's Empires! What's not to love about it? If that alone isn't enough to convince you: Set in the Injustice-verse, Deadman Dick gives Jason some ghostly help with his night job. While it's light on romance, the small tender moments left me thinking about this fic long after I'd finished reading.

A Taste of New Love

For what it’s worth: This made me cry when I read it. It was heart wrenching but the ending just made me smile so hard.

It's Wednesday my Dudes

There’s this fic on Ao3 called Two Birds on a Wire  by empires, pentapus and it is one of my favorite fics to date. But tbh, there are too many to choose from.
