There’s finally an actual, proper Malaysian-brewed craft beer in town! Paperkite is a new craft beer range that is 100% brewed in Malaysia, and one of the brewers is none other than local craft beer pioneer Alvin himself! Paperkite will have 4 core beers for now - Copper Ale, Oatmeal Stout, IPA and XPA. The first two are currently available at the newly opened Taproom (@taproomkl) at Bamboo Hills (the IPA and XPA will be launched later). The Copper Ale is a pretty tasty English Bitters-styled ale, Very easy-drinking, balanced session beer but not TOO easy like a lager. Malty in the entry, light hoppy bitterness and nuttiness on the tongue and nose and nutty as well. Nice medium body, an easy yet malty finish. The Oatmeal Stout has a slightly bitter start, like black coffee mocha. The body is medium light, but not paper thin like many so called “stouts”. Bitter malt and cereal, dark cocoa nibs, a bit of burnt bbq and charred toast but malty finish. A very drinkable stout indeed. The price is RM22/RM21 per 330ml glass and RM55/58 for 3 glasses, which is pretty good value. Oh, and if you go to Taproom, make sure you try what is arguably one the best pizzas I’ve had in KL, by @wearepizzaduo. And it goes perfectly with the beers too! The official launch of Paperkite is yet to come, but based on what we tried already, I can’t wait to try the IPA and whatever they come up with next! #paperkitebeer #beer #beers #craftbeer #craftbeers #cractbeerkl #malaysianbeer #brewedinmalaysia #taproomkl #bamboohills #tipsyturvybeer https://www.instagram.com/p/Cmq3fILJdem/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
