Another angle on 20 • Yes, Leon has been 20 for a while but I’m just getting around to posting this card. This time I had the foiling worked out. I used a Sakura QuickieGlue pen (I love this pen – as much as you can love any crafting item!) to draw lines on the 20 and the name which I had cut out of white card. The glue is dry when it turns clear and in that state it is pretty solid and tacky. The foil stuck to this beautifully! Bam! The gold dotted background is from a Paper Poetry’s Graphic Hot Foil-pad by Rico Design to which I stuck the letters with some foam tape so they are more three-dimensional. Monika loves Spain and Barcelona in particular. Her favourite colour is the same blue I found in the 12 x 12’’ (203 x 203 cm) patterned paper by Ilu Ilus @iluilus called Antoni Gaudi - like the architect who’s work I have been a fan of ever since I can remember. The 24 sheet double sided paper pad is just full of colourful textures and broken tile patterns so typical for Gaudi’s well known tourist attractions like Park Güell. For the card background I used the blue stylised paper and some strips of paper that looks like shattered marble flooring. The word “Monika” is made up of letters of the FC Barcelona Font which I cut out of one of colourful tile sheets and stuck onto the card front with foam adhesive so it’s a little more three-dimensional. I then used the 3-D Glue #DiamondGlaze by #JudiKins and glazed over the letters. In real life they do actually look like tiles. On a side-note: I bought the Diamond Glaze about 20 years ago from #HeinDesign and forgot it in one of my craft-boxes. To my surprise it was still as good as new! – I bought the large card base and envelope at a local store – I’m sure it’s distributed by Papier Union – mounted the patterned paper onto it and added some matching 90 g/m² inside to write my message.
