Happy birthday to my favorite person @johnarmenta !! My grandpa (#papouli) would be proud! I used his famous seasoning salt (which tried to be bought by #Lawrys but NOPE - stays in the family!) to cook 2 legs and 2 thighs of chicken, with his salt, some #rosemary and #lemon, along with small red potatoes, onions, tomatoes and of course even more #garlic! You can't even claim to be #Greek if you dont overdose on garlic. Then, thanks to my uncle Joe's instructions years ago, I went a bit off boon but used a mix of Red Wine Vinegar, Olive Oil and soft goat cheese to whisk together a fantastic dressing for an #arugula salad with #candied walnuts, thin pear slices, red onions, more tomatoes and plain goat cheese and wow, even I was impressed(!). I recently broke a rib so it was a welcomed release to be able to make someone smile with food; a way out of my own stuff. I love making him happy and same for him with me which is quite unusual and spectacular. I'm so lucky! I'm not usually a #cook / #chef, although bragging here: I do make amazing #pastries and #desserts. I haven't cooked in years. I've baked as lately as a week ago. So, this was a big deal. The best part: it made him smile! That makes any #Grecian VERY happy. We cook with #love. That's what food should be about. So happy that in my state I could be someone positive for him although he doesn't complain regardless of how much I cook. He doesn't complain at all. He just loves. That's pretty #amazing.
