To pick or not pick! 🎯 . Clean your skin first. If you've got a blackhead I have found that inexpensive, pharmacy grade 1% salicylic acid to be effective and exfoliates skin nicely. If it's a red papule or whitehead pustule try applying benzoyl peroxide first (very few people, about 5% are allergic but make sure that's not you). Benzoyl Peroxide should dry it out. I also love Benzamyacin which is a prescription. In terms of popping, Dermatologists won't recommend it but if you're hell bent on extracting a pimple, pick up a comedone extractor at a local pharmacy and disinfect the area a extractor. Ice the area to shrink the pore and reduce inflammation first then extract with the tool. You can follow with antibiotic cream and a small round bandaid to avoid bacteria exposure. For cystic pimples, I do believe it best to leave alone to prevent scarring. These pimples tend to be under the skin and hurt or are tender to touch. Prescription grade Clindamyacin is excellent for treating pesky cystic pimples. If all else fails, and the pimple just won't go away, see your dermatologist. They can inject cortisone to shrink it quickly. Beware you will be required to sign a waiver because a small scar is possible. But at this point you're probably ready to take the risk. . . . #laurengottmakeup #pickingskin #blemishes #skinisin #benzoylperoxide #salicylicacid #clindamyacin #papule #pustule #cystic #clearskin #cortisoneshot #treatingpimples #pimples #blackheads #whiteheads #comedoneextractor #antibioticcream #topickornottopick #clearskin #pimpletreatment
