If said person’s distress exists solely because they fear being rejected, that would show that the interest itself is not necessarily pathological. The distress may instead reflect social stigma, internalized shame, or fear of discrimination.

Sometimes the problem is not inside the person’s head, but in the social environment that teaches them they should hate themselves for something deemed ‘evil’. The resulting distress is real, but its source may be external rather than intrinsic to the interest itself.

I think that the best way to help normalize help for paraphiles is separating having a paraphilia from acting on one in harmful ways.

People are much more likely to seek help when they know they won’t be automatically treated as monsters for asking for support. We can normalize therapy, research, and prevention while still being clear that protecting others and maintaining consent are non-negotiable.

Supporting people who are struggling means encouraging treatment, accountability, and healthy coping strategies—not excusing harmful behavior. Compassion for someone seeking help and condemnation of harmful actions can exist at the same time.

oooo okay. i loved making lenore tbh i already had her as a character before violet but redesigning her was so fun …… she’s also pretty easy for me to write!

hellu!! was wondering about the character creation process for the violeters... i know some of them existed before tetrov but i'm curious on how some of the characters were conceptualized!!

HI so for me, a lot of the characters are actually based on people i know in real life. i take a lot of inspiration from different friends or family i have and kind of piece it together. minori, haruto, and keita were all created specifically for tetro violet while lenore and sukai were previous ocs! i usually create characters with a specific purpose in mind, like i have something i want to show or represent, and then develop them from there

dr ishikawa is a rp oc of mine who was originally named inger! dr feng is an OLDDDD oc too. i’m talking like 4-5 years old. she was originally like 21 and had one eye and a detective. crazy

i cant fully say for the others, but i know lee uses some older ocs!
