Olivia looked at the hour in her cellphone and swallowed hard. It was the first time she was visiting Charles in jail and she frankly didn’t know if he’d accept her visit or not.She knew it wasn’t her place since he had a fiancee, but from the moment Jake told her the news, she practically begged her brother to save him, to take him out of hell. But she needed time to let it all sink and while Charles had been prosecuted, Olivia was waiting a signal where she could go and visit him. When Jack confirmed her she’d be able to see him, she immediately arranged a time.
As she got to the detention center, she never thought she’d be so humiliated in her whole life. They almost got her undressed just for the mere thought she could be hiding something under her panties. She even had to close her eyes as she walked through a corridor because of the lascivious sights she was getting, which it was repulsive. Once she got to the room where she could see and talk to Charles, she took a seat at the corner of a type of desk with a glass separating people, and waited for him to arrive.
Since her sister was working less, Elizabeth’s work increased. She didn’t know when was the last time she went home, so she simply had bought new clothes and practically live in her office. It was one of those days where she even showered in her private bathroom and get ready for a business meeting her sister arranged for her. Because she couldn’t add more work, she even had to attend this meeting. Or course it was her specialty, but still, she barely had time to even go home and rest properly. She missed her bed, her shower, her kitchen (even though she didn’t cook), her living room…but work came first…it always came first since she graduated.
Looking herself at the bathroom mirror, she started to get dressed for that meeting downstairs at the restaurant of the club. Supposedly, this investor’s name was Mr. Ashford and sincerely the name didn’t ring a bell at all. She dried her hair and decided to not tie it at all, a simple yet professional dress, heels and no need for a clutch, because it was going to be on the house. Those were the benefits of being one of the owners, free food and drinks. She did her makeup, jewelry and applied perfume and made a step back to see her look. She looked professional yet sexy and she did approve it.
Once the clock told her it was better to go downstairs, she did so and walked towards the restaurant where she asked for the reserved table. She saw a man sitting there and walked in his direction. “Mr. Ashford?” she called him in the best professional tone.

Willa had barely had time to do anything recently, she was always so busy with work or Eloise and having no time for herself really. She realised on her lunch break she should go to this cafe which were having an event on that day and she should check it out. It was always something she would avoid usually but why not this time, she knew the time it was starting but her lunch break started slightly earlier, so she thought she would walk to the cafe.
As she arrived, for some reason they were shut and she didn’t understand why but she couldn’t complain, she knew she finished for lunch earlier. So as she approached the door she saw someone standing outside and she smiled looking at them for a moment before she noticed who it was. “Charles?” She said questioning for a moment, her ex boyfriend and friend who she hadn’t seen in such a long time. “Hey, long time no see, so you got here early too?”

Charles took note of how she wouldn’t look at him. That pained him. Perhaps she had moved on. The small good part of him hoped she had to find happiness but the other outweighed and would kill anyone that touched her then show her just how she belonged to. His comment struck a nerve. So maybe she wasn’t. He moved over to her and bent to whisper in her ear, “Perhaps I should take you over my knee and show everyone here just who you belong to especially with that sassy mouth.” He hasn’t slept with Sofia and had no plans of doing so, but it was hard going without sex since before Liv, he was sleeping with whoever he could. Then he met Liv and she became his one and only. Now he was feeling pretty miserable and wanted to give into the urges. It was hard for him not to go to the woman that he was supposed to be with intimately.

It was really hard to not meet his eyes, to be closer to him, to forget everything and be in his arms, but she couldn't, she couldn't do what her mom did. But how could she move on when weeks ago she told him she was in love with him? Did he really think she moved on that fast? One thing she was sure of, he was jealous, which made her feel at ease for a moment. What she didn't expect was that in front of everyone he'd whisper in her ear. The closeness was killing her, her heart was racing at the speed of light and her core sent her a shiver down her spine. There was nothing more that she wanted than to be with him, in every sense. But they needed to have a talk, because she couldn't allow be the mistress, that's why they went on separate ways. There were things she needed to understand first before she decided to give in to him that night. "Before doing that, we need to talk...in your office" she murmured in his hear.

Charles didn’t want to have a mistress which is often what high powered executives had. The wives agreed to it so they had the power and ranking in society but it was kept to a blind eye. Secret vacations, second homes that were kept up for them- it was something his father indulged in after his mother grew ill. She had encouraged it. At the time it was something Charles couldn’t quite possibly understand. He didn’t want that kind of life for himself. He wanted someone that truly wanted him. That just loved and cared about him back. Hearing her words, he pulled back and nodded. He began to make his way towards the offices. He didn’t care who saw him headed there After all he was part of the business so it was likely some business had come up. The club wasn’t the only thing he kept up with. He went inside, leaving the door open for her to come in as he poured himself another drink this one stronger than what was being served downstairs which is what he wanted. This was a talk he was sure he wouldn’t like.

Her memories about her mother kept resurfacing since the day he told her he was engaged. Olivia saw her mother cry alone in the middle of the night, her mother's heart broken into pieces until one day she confronted Jake's mom...ended up in a disaster and from that moment she swore something like that would never happen to her. But faith simply had something else ready for her and that was why she was on this situation. When he pulled back and started walking towards his office, she followed him, if someone saw them, so be it, she was tired of pretending, of hiding. Once they got there, she stepped in and walked further. She observed him as he poured a glass of whiskey. That was the man she loved, that was the man she wanted to spend her life with, to have a family, to grow old together, but things weren't easy and that hurt her. It hurt her that she couldn't be with him, that he had a fiancee. But that wasn't what it brought them there on that moment. First she wanted to know something. "Do you really think I fucked Jake? Or that I'm fucking him?" she asked with curiosity.
Charles — 04/29/2021
Charles brought the tumblr to his lips as he let the liquid flow through him, warming him up. He probably shouldn’t be drinking that much tonight and knows that Charlotte would have his ass, but it was often what got him through his days. He moved over and shut the door behind her and handed her the glass knowing they’ve shared worse than a glass of bourbon. “Do I think you’re fucking him no. Have you in the past? I don’t know.” He said honestly as he leaned against his desk with his hands wrapped around the wood as he took her appearance in for the first time that night. God she looked gorgeous. “I haven’t fucked her.” He said looking away from her for a moment before turning his gaze back to her. “I should be because it’s what I’m supposed to do. We’re supposed to be the new power couple in Vegas that’s going to be like royalty.”
Olivia — 04/29/2021
Once he closed the door behind her, Olivia walked further into his office, her mind bringing good old memories of them there. She was coping with this heartbreak with work at her dance studio, exhausting herself to not think and not feel the ache she had been carrying. As he offered her his glass, she gave him a soft smile and then took a sip, the bourbon immediately burning her throat as it slide. "Well we do have a relationship..."she mentioned almost casually. She really wanted to know what was the grade of jealousy that man had. It was almost hilarious but he didn't know what type of relationship Jake and Olivia had, so this was interesting. She took her time to admire his features as he leaned against the desk and oh boy, he was an Adonis. It was a sigh of relief when he said he didn't fuck her, so he had been faithful to Olivia as much as Olivia was faithful to him. But that last comment hurt her. "So you are willing to do that? To fuck her because it's something you should do?"

Charles laughed humorously, “A relationship?” He shook his head as he fell deep in thought. “Last I heard about him he doesn’t have relationships with women. He is the type to fuck then dump.” He didn’t care to learn about the lawyer since he had one in his pocket that had his well being in mind. Jake was for the club and for that he respected and just stayed out of the way. His grip on the wood tightened as he pondered on her words, “It’s not like it would be a job.” He said with no emotion held in his voice. “If I had to do I could have an heir then yes. That is not something I can ask you to very well do is it?” He asked with a slight incline of his head. While he knew that Liv would likely do and be that for him, he didn’t want to ask her to do that especially given the situation.
Olivia — 04/30/2021
" Don't laugh. I'm being serious, Charles. I do have a relationship with Jake. Not the one you are thinking though."she said softly. It was her time to let him in, even if it wasn't the right place to tell so. Letting out a small sigh, she then placed her gaze into his beautiful eyes. "He is my brother. Half brother to be exact". It was the first time she said that out loud and she didn't feel any hate. "My mom was his father's lover. That is why I don't want to be a lover or mistress." she said to him. "I saw my mom suffer secretly all of my life. And I don't want to go through the same as her. Though where I am now is quite painful and heartbreaking" she admitted out loud. " Remember when you asked what did I want? And my reply was you? I'm here for the long run. I am in love with you. I want a family with you and grow old together with you." She said before finishing her glass of bourbon.(edited)

Charles’ eyebrows raised at hearing that Jake was her half brother. Now the statement of him asking if she was fucking him was ludicrous. He listened to what she had to say and suddenly everything made sense. “I see.” He finally said as he looked anywhere but at her. “I wouldn’t ever ask you to be my mistress. Even though you would have my heart and my body, you deserve more than that.” He reached out and brushed his knuckles across her cheek. “What if I can’t give you that?” He asked out of curiosity. “What if all I can give you is for you to be my lover?”(edited)

Olivia — Yesterday at 12:04 AM
She started looking everywhere but him, the glass now empty, placed on the desk before she stepped away from being close to him, she couldn't be near the man she loved without feeling her heart broken. She let him in, poured her heart and all she had as a reply was that. Maybe it was time for her to open her eyes and realize she needed someone who wouldn't hurt her, though the process was going to be very painful, but repeating her mother's story, suffer the way her mother did...that wasn't what she wanted and deserved. But it was needed one simple touch, not even a touch, a brush on her cheek and she was completely disarmed against him. "I don't know...I simply don't know..."
Charles — Yesterday at 8:15 PM
Charles nodded. Of course he knew he was seemingly cold against her, though he was growing that way with everyone. It was better for people to not be close to him since he tends to hurt those he grows close to. He stepped away from his desk and leaned against the door with his hand on the door knob, “I’m not making my choice, Liv. I’m just asking so I know where your heart is.”
Olivia — Yesterday at 9:01 PM
It was hard to be near him and be cold...specially when a simple touch could disarm her but she tried to recover from his touch and grabbed the glass she left on the desk and went to pour another drink, because lord knows she needed it. She took that drink as fast as she could before looking directly into his eyes. "Do you really have to ask where my heart is? Seriously Charles? My heart, no matter what I want or deserve...is with you..."she said trying to stay calm. She couldn't believe he was still asking these type of things after knowing how much she loved him. Maybe she needed a third drink after all.
Charles — Yesterday at 9:12 PM
Charles knew he shouldn’t have asked that, but his heart was giving him utter turmoil. His jaw ticked as she spoke. His eyes closed as he thought of what to do. What to say. Nothing he could say would ever be right. He glanced at the clock then back at her. “Sofia is going to be wondering where I am.” He said softly, not trying to hurt her but he had to get back to her so no questions were raised. “I love you, Olivia. Nothing or no one could change that fact. You showed me that maybe I am worth something. Maybe I’m selfish because I want you while I’m promised to another and I wish I could have you both but that is impossible.”
Olivia — Yesterday at 10:31 PM
Olivia grabbed the bottle but hardened her grip on it as she heard the name of his fiancee. All she could do was nod, of course...no one knew Olivia was with him. She was trying to listen to him but the pain in her heart was too much to handle. That's how her mother suffered and the story itself was repeating. Hearing him say he loved her, she wondered what kind of love was that one; maybe a selfish and a cruel love, because no pure love could feel like the way both were feeling. "I see...You..."she said before looking back at him, "You should go...your fiancee is waiting for you..."

Charles — Today at 2:04 AM
Charles nodded. He didn’t have the fight left in him currently. How he was wasn’t like him. Opening the door, he was going to let her take the time she needed in his office. Not like it hadn’t been a sanctuary for her between her dances prior. “I’ll be seeing you, Olivia.” He stepped back out where the music was thumping against the walls. It quelled the hammering of his own heart. Had he just made a mistake? Time would tell how that went.
Elizabeth was thankful Charles could cover her when she needed to do things outside the club. She has been so overwhelmed with everything, but things were slightly coming back to normal. Charlotte was already coming back and with Charles’s help, things slowly were coming back to go smoothly. So as a thanks, she bought some pastries to eat as a ‘dessert’ since lunch was already gone. So after heading out of the bakery, she went directly to the office and once she got there, she stepped directly in, enjoying the view she was watching as she got inside. “I see you are feeling way too comfortable on my chair, Ashford” Liz teased him.
Jay walked down the halls of the Prince's mansion, that glint in his eyes as he adjusted his glasses. It was all coming together, slowly surely, the clock was ticking and soon it would all fall in place. The thought brought a smile to his lips as he open the door to the Don's office. Hopefully his little piece on the board will be getting ready for his role in Jay's latest script.
"Charles." He started as he walked into the dimly lit room, eyes on the sandy haired man who sat behind his desk. As usual Charles didn't bother even looking at him as he closed the door, hand slipping into his pockets and he hummed. The Prince was busy with some paper work it seemed and as always refused to talk to Jay until he was done. It was an old dance they both knew well. After a few moments and a flick of a pen, the acting down turned his head up to his accounting, cocking his head.
"So? Is there a reason you just barged in without knocking?"
There was no point of using words to explain when he could just put forward facts, so Jay merely pulled the folder out from under his arm pit, setting it in front of Charles and gesturing towards it. It had been meticulously put together, every piece of evidence complied to pull on the many façades of the blonde's mentality. The idea had already been planted but it was going to slow and he had to speed it up if he wanted any chance to get the things he needed. There was an echoing silence as Charles read, only the sharp flick of the pages adding any music to the air. He hummed faintly until he heard the the thunk of the folder cover closing and the Don's dark blue eyes staring at him. Hard, cold and...angry.
"...Is this all correct?"
"Isn't it always, Charles?"
The Prince grunted and stood up, grabbing his bourbon filled glass and standing by the window, staring out. Most people would think he was thinking but Jay knew better, the accountant had been around the don long enough to know when he was simply mulling over his anger. It was going just as he foresaw it.
"They kill my men, plan to kidnap my fiancée and kill my brothers then they have the gall to tell me that they're merely looking out for their assets?" The pictures, texts and letters that Jay had brought together pointed to everything Charles had said. Making it seem like the Russians had indeed decided to wage war on everything the don held dear. None of it was quite try of course, rather perfectly crafted pieces of evidence for convenience. It had to be, the Russians had to go and they were taking too long. Anyway, it wasn't like those men weren't dead.
"We should move now. They have their annual meeting on Tuesday. The entire family will be there." The Don nodded his head at Jay's words, the glass in his tensed hand looking on the verge of breaking. Even though he remained composed, it was certain that he was on the verge of smashing something at the information.
"Bring me my contact book. I need to speak to Finn, Rose and Kira."
"What about Jo sir?" The sandy haired Prince turned around looking over at the one lone photo on his desk. This was nothing to do with the Russians but merely another step for a different goal. Charles set his glass down and picked it up, shredding it into several pieces. "She is not to know. She...is no longer of use to me."
Jay nodded his head, staring at the shredded remains of a photo Jay had had...taken by one of his little pieces who watched the house. Of a certain other Prince with the loyal lapdog. Someone most certainly was no longer in the don's favour.
At the Shifano party, Lucy serves herself well in the drinks department and soon enough she's too hammered to realize right from wrong, which immediately gives Charles the lead on leading her away from the crowd to feed on her - however, Scott notices his sister's disappearances and manages to get to her in time, and Lucy is rendered with too much clear memories to sort out.
Charles: The night had begun quietly enough, with nothing of note happening except drinks and people socialising, people Charles either didn't know or recognised enough to thank them for being there without real conversation.
Before long, however, the house was packed and practically heaving at the seams. Charles found himself squeezing through groups of people just to make his way from one room to another. The feat was exhausting, made all the more difficult by the heady scent of blood all around him. Laden with drinks and sugar, each body smelled differently tangy and sweet. Despite trying to remain fed enough the night before, Charles couldn't ignore the hunger in his stomach.
Spotting a petite, dark haired girl he knew well enough to speak to, the teen sidled over and nudged her waist playfully. "You made it," he beamed.
Lucy: Lucy turned around when she felt someone nudge her waist, and when she looked up a smile lit her face as she exclaimed, "Charles!" She grinned broadly before clearing her throat, "Oops, I mean Shifano." Lucy gave his name some tone as she spoke before she nodded once, "And I'm glad I did. Who knew someone could throw a great party in this little town?" Lucy wondered as she swayed a little with the music, and lifted a brow, "You don't look like you're having fun?"
Charles : The vampire gave a playful laugh, nudging her waist again and leaning in to grin, his tone teasing. "Shifano is right. And don't you forget it again."
That was his first mistake, the girl smelled amazing. Like sugar, he thought. Leaning back, he nodded curtly. "Good. I'm glad you're having fun. Everyone else seems to be."
Shrugging, he nodded at a passer by and smiled politely before turning his attention to her again. "I guess I'm just waiting for the drink to hit, y'know? It'll come, it's just the wait for it. So how're you?"
Lucy: Lucy laughed and looked up at him as he leaned in to grin before she rolled her eyes, "I prefer Shifano anyways." Lucy answered and rolled her eyes once before she glanced around to the passe by and looked up at Charles again. "You're still waiting?" Lucy laugh and shook her head once, "You don't seem so keen on that - am i going to invite you for some drinks in your own house?" Lucy grinned once as she lifted her cup to her mouth and gulped down the rest of it, "I need a refill anyways."
Charles : "Same," Charles chuckled, "It sounds a lot more mysterious, right?" With his eyes on her, Charles laughed at her response and nodded, playing sheepish.
"Yeah, well, what can I say? I thought I was gonna be drunker than I am. That's unfortunate but what can I do?"
As she downed the last of her drink, Charles gave a mock applause and jerked his head towards the table. His mind raced for an excuse not to down any alcohol, not to feel the burn in his belly.
"Come on, we'll get you sorted," he grinned, "I'll pass though. Cider and nachos gives me a fully belly and drink on that will not look pretty."
Lucy: Lucy nodded quickly, "Yeah - and what's better than a guy with a mystery, right?" She lifted a brow and rolled her eyes at his response. Lucy looked down at her empty cup and grinned once as she started towards the table, following him, "Oh no, you're scared of the hangover. Wouldn't have pegged you for the one to care about a hangover." Lucy teased playfully and looked down at the table before her before she found the bottle of whiskey, "Ah there we go." Lucy poured some for her before she held out the bottle for Charles, "You sure you don't want any?"
Charles : "Oh you know it," Charles grinned, "We mystery men keep the party going."
As they approached the table. Charles shook his head and laughed, leaning against the edge of the table and watching her search it for a drink. "Truth be told, I'm good all night and right through till morning. It's the whole messy drunk thing I don't want, not for my first little event."
As he spied her picking out the bottle of whiskey, Charles whistled appreciatively and shook his head. "Nuh uh," he grinned, "Not until a lot later I think. Maybe you could keep me compnay till then, till I feel better." With half a smirk, Charles edged closer to Lucy and arched a brow playfully.
Lucy: Lucy laughed at that and then glanced sideways at him, lifting a brow, "What, you're the emotional drunk type of guy?" Lucy mocked playfully and then poured herself the drink. "Your loss." She shrugged once and put the bottle down, before she turned sideways to look up at Charles. After what she remembered, Lucy knew it'd be stupid to take him up on his offer but then she thought, why not? Some fun wouldn't hurt anyone. And she probably knew that was the whiskey talking, but the whiskey was a lot stronger right now. "They tell me my company always makes people feel good, I don't see why not." Lucy replied wittingly, and pursed her lips into a snicker as she sipped from her cup, "You have anything in mind to do?"
Charles : "I might be," Charles grinned, biting his own lip playfully as he waggled his eyebrows suggestively at her. The whiskey seemed to flow freely past her lips, and a small part of Charles knew that should spell trouble but for now, he needed food.
"I wouldn't know if that's true," he replied in a quieter tone, a touch more serious this time. "Maybe you should show me."
With a hand brushing her waist, Charles used his other hand to gesture out the door, up the stairs. "You wanna see the rest of the house?"
Lucy: Lucy grinned up at him and shrugged briefly, "It would be my pleasure to show you, actually." Lucy nodded once and glanced down as his hand brushed her waist and she looked up at him again, "I would love to." She nodded once and followed him towards the stairs, mounting them a bit too excitedly for her own good. 23:34
Charles:"Awesome," Charles grinned, stepping up off of the edge of the table and following her. "Lead the way."
As they mounted the stairs, Charles chuckled to himself. This would be easy. He'd only take a little, maybe borrow some from Sky to top him off. If he was lucky, he could pass it off as an awkward hickey and apologise profusely.
"So this is Eliza's room," he nodded to a closed door once they reached the second floor, "And Sky's there." Another locked door, and a staircase that lead upward. "Elijah sleeps up there, and I'm in here."
Charles smiled, walking through the only open door and flicking on a light switch, pulling a sheepish expression.
"It's a little messy, I'm not the best at organization."
Lucy: Lucy followed upstairs and let Charles show her around, she held the cup to her lips and glanced around as he showed her around. She nodded towards each door as if she acknowledged much of what he said before she pursed her lips. The drinks were really getting to her because she knew she heard those names somewhere but she could barelly at all remember them. Lucy wandered into Charles' room and giggled a little as she settled her cup aside as she glanced around, "Maybe I could fix that?" She said quickly and turned back to him and grinned.
Charles: Sitting on the edge of his bed, Charles chuckled and shrugged. "You could try your best, but I'm not gonna lie; it would last five minutes tops before I ruined it again. I have this thing where structure and order kind of just run when I enter a room."
With a bashful chuckle, Charles shook his head and scratched the back of his neck thoughtfully. "Listen," he began, "I'm not being one of those men who.. claim privileges or anything for offering up the house but you're really pretty, like actual pretty not "high school bitch" pretty. I kinda like that." Looking at her, he raised his brows as though in question before looking away. Charles couldn't help but laugh and shake his head. Could this work.
"I'm sorry, the drink is closing in and the room just feels awesome right now. We can head back down. "
Lucy: Lucy laughed at that and shook her head briefly, "I've seen that. But you're lucky cause I've always been kind of the household kind of person." Lucy shrugged once and tilted her head as he started speaking. She smiled at his words and looked down, twiddling her fingers at the hem of her shirt before she looked up at him again, "You're adorable..and hot." Lucy shrugged once as she trudged towards the bed to sit down beside him, "The room does feel awesome. I kinda like that." She mimicked, her words slurring out of her lips as she peered up at him through her lashes.
Charles : "Complete opposite, huh?" Charles grinned. "Maybe between us we could keep a room in semi decent condition. Or wreck it all together," he laughed cheekily.
As she came to sit next to him, Charles tilted his chin down to look at her, worrying his lower lip between his teeth as she spoke. "You think so?" he asked nonchalantly with a reluctant smile, "I look like a hobo. You must be a total weirdo." He laughed nonetheless, reaching to gently tickle her side and grin.
"It does feel awesome, doesn't it? How you holdin' up, sweet cheeks?" With the alcohol slowing her heart, Charles could see her pulse tick a beat across the base of her throat, trying his best not to dove for it.
Lucy: Lucy laughed, "We'd make a good team." She stressing, stressing away on the 'good' as she tilted her head and stared at him, "That-" She pointed at his lip-biting act that he was doing before she took a deep breath and grinned, "N'aww.." Lucy laughed as he tickled her and took a deep breath as she settlled her head down for a minute to look up at him, and let out a sigh, "I'm not passing out any time soon." Lucy announced with a grin as she collapsed back onto the bed, and stared ahead at the ceiling with obnoxious interest, "So I guess that is a very, very god thing." Lucy muttered and laid her arms at either side of her.
Charles : "I was thinking the same thing," Charles grinned. Her went along with her as she commented on his actions, smiling and poking her gently at the waist against before she fell back, Charles following her to lie by her side, propped up on an elbow.
"Would it be completely out of the question if I kissed you?" he grinned, letting a finger trace her forearm and disturb the tiny, peach fuzz hairs there. "Seeing as you're alive and well and all, not about to pass out on me."
Lucy: Lucy tilted her head sideways and pursed her lips as she looked up at him, her eyes watched his finger as it traced along her forearm, and the goose bumps on her skin rose. Every cell in her body was screaming, RUN, but her rational was numbed by the alcohol that was running through her veins and smiled a little, "By all means," She started, breathing out heavily as he shaded eyes met his, "Go ahead."
Charles: With a cheeky grin, Charles brought the hand up to cup her jaw, a thumb tilting her chin up until her mouth was under his and his lips were brushing against her mouth, barely a whisper before he leaned back ever so slightly and arched a brow over a smile.
"You sure?" he quizzed cheekily, planting another chaste kiss to the corner of her mouth.
Lucy: Lucy smiled a little as he held her jaw and tilt her chin up towards his mouth. Lucy let her lips fall slack as she felt his breath fall onto her lips and Lucy looked up at him briefly. Run, run - said the instinct but to be honest, she couldn't do that now, not really. Lucy sighed a little and nodded when she felt his lips close to hers. "Mhm." She managed to barely breathe out.
Charles : There was something about her, she seemed.. tired. Perhaps it was the drink. Charles had the gumption not to let this take the wrong turn. Instead he laughed and pressed a chaste kiss to her lips before he pulled back, leaning his forehead against her's and meeting her eye. "C'mon, Luce," he coaxed, "Come and get it. You're more fun than that, I know you are.."
His heart would have raced in his chest had he had one to function. The feed was so close, he refused to lose it now.
Lucy: Lucy groaned a little as he pressed his forehead against hers - and he still wasn't kissing her. "You know, that's not fair. I'm drunker than you are, I should be getting the advantage here." She laughed as she lifted one arm to wrap around his neck, her hand fisting into his shirt to pull him closer so she could close the distance between them and press her lips to his.
Charles: "Oooh, sorry," the vampire grinned as he cupped her jaw once more and tipped her mouth higher. The grip she had on his shirt brought their mouths together and Charles kissed her firmly then, pressing his mouth against hers and tilting his head to ghost the tip of his tongue over the seam of her lips, softening his touch ever so slightly.
Her heartbeat thrummed right in the centre of her bottom lip and it took every ounce of self control for Charles not to sink his fangs into it and just drink.
Lucy: Lucy sighed as his lips pressed against hers and she sat up a little, propping one hand beneath her so she could stay upright, she parted her lips slightly and sighed. She took a deep breath and melted back into the bed, closing her eyes.
Charles: Moving with her, Charles leaned down to kiss at her mouth and follow her as she lay down onto the bed. Leaning over her chest, the vampire chuckled and moved to kiss up under her jaw, a hand gently brushing against her waist.
"You feeling ok?" he murmured, pressing another kiss just under her jawline.
He could feel it now, the slow thump of her pulse beating against her skin, the smell of her blood every time it surged closer to the surface then raced off again.
Lucy: Lucy could feel the pressure of his body over hers and she sighed again, shutting her eyes completely and letting herself go into this - whatever this was. As he murmured against her jaw, she nodded once, "I'm good." She muttered once and her hand toyed with the hairs at the nap of his neck.
Charles: "Awesome," Charles breathed as her fingers knotted into his hair, kissing a line down her neck until he stopped, just above the collarbone and scraped his teeth over the skin. So close, so close.
With a light, ever so gentle pressure, he scraped again to guage a response, hand sliding to cup Lucy's waist and hold her against him.
Lucy: Lucy tilted her head sideways as she felt his lips trail down along her neck. She took a deep breath when she felt his teeth scrape against her skin, her brows pulling together into a slight frown as she slowly realized what was going on. The sense of deja vu suddenly crept up on her and ran shiver through her body when she felt him hold her. "What are you doing?" She hummed slowly.
Charles : "Nothing," Charles whispered, shaking his head. She couldn't be backing out now, not now, he was so close and the blood seemed to well under his mouth and pause there as though waiting for him to just have a little bit..
Without any further hesitation, Charles rubbed a thumb over each bottom rib as a useless apology and locked his lips around her pulse, teeth puncturing her skin.
Immediately, the blood welled up and splashed against the roof of his mouth before pouring down his throat in a metallic, sweet rush that had him gulping it down and desperately trying to suction more from the girl's neck.
Lucy: Lucy frowned a little more when he said nothing and squirmed a little underneath him, "Hey.." She scowled and took a deep breath as his thumbs brushed over her skin and she gasped once when she felt the sharp stab of his teeth piercing into her skin. But when Lucy closed her eyes, she saw the forest and the golden eyes and the full moon. So she screamed, as loud as she possibly could - but feeling her voice draining away as the blood quickly left her veins dry.
Scott: The party was wild and Scott's eyes were about crossed just trying to keep an eye on both Ryder and Lucy. Thank God for werewolf tolerance, honestly, otherwise he would have likely been on the ground like that other guy in the corner...Scott rolled his eyes, chuckling underneath his breath as he took a swig of his drink, the loud music pounding in his ears. Werewolf hearing sucked during times like these, the bass alone enough to nearly want him to cringe until he got used to it. But his werewolf hearing came in handy when he noted that his sister wasn't where he had last saw her, talking with Shifano. Where the hell had they gone off to? Narrowing his eyes, he started his trek through the house. "Lucy?" he asked, knocking on the first closed door he came across and putting his ear to it. But there was nothing. And his search came up empty until he heard a loud scream and he stumbled against the hallway, racing his way to the source of it. Heading into the room, Scott was quick to push at Shifano, reaching onto the back of his shirt and pushing the guy - and his mouth - off of his sister. "What the fucking hell?!" he screamed harshly down at the vampire. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" he seethed, heading up to Lucy and bundling her to him, his voice falling soft. "Hey...you - are you alright?"
Charles : There was footsteps, of this Charles was acutely aware. And voices, hands gripping him and tugging. His entire world spun on it's axis, the bed slamming up behind him. No, no he had fallen. Fallen back against the comforter with blood rolling down his tongue and sticky-sweet over his teeth, staining his lips.
It took him a moment to realise what had happened, that he had fed in public, in the house. The ceiling swam before his eyes as he tried to pull his thoughts into one stream, looking over at the pair huddled together.
"What?" was all he managed, dazed and confused. "Did I.. Is she.."
Lucy: Lucy wasn't really sure where was she or what was going on anymore - because what she felt and what she saw didn't make any sense to her at all. The only common ground was the fact that she was screaming. Lucy gasped suddenly when the weight on her body wasn't not on her anymore, and her eyes snapped open to stare at the ceiling above her with wide eyes as she gasped, or basically struggled to breathe. She felt arms wrap around her and hold her securely, Scott's arms, and she turned to hide her face into his chest as her shoulders rose and fell and her eyes fell shut again, sorting through the memories that came clashing down on her like a tidal wave.
Scott: Scott was fuming, his nostrils flaring. Jesus, he had thought that Shifano was different. He had said that there would be no trouble at this party. Bullshit considering he was the one that caused it. "She's going to be fine," Scott hissed at him. "No thanks to you. You motherfucker. Stay the fuck away from her." He patted at Lucy's hair, feeling her shake and started to take steps back, his voice falling low again. "Come on, Lucy. Let's - let's go home." And, for good measure, he threw a heated glare at Shifano. Vampires were now officially on his shit list.
Charles : The room started to come into sharper focus, the reality of it all hitting Charles like a brick in the gut. Lucy, limp and pale, Scott cradling her and the metallic tang of fresh, warm blood plastered all over the inside of his mouth. He could taste the whiskey.
"Wait!" he called getting too his feet but not going so far as to step toward them. "I.. I.. I .shit. Look, I'm sorry. I didn't.. We were talking and we ended up having a look around the house and we got too close. I was starving!"
With his jaw set, Shifano folded his arms and looked the pair over from beneath his prominent brow, almost like a child who'd been scolded as he wiped the back of his hand over his mouth viciously. He had fallen silent, words clearly meaning very little.
"I'm sorry."
Lucy: Lucy kept her eyes shut as she breathed heavily as she felt Scott stand up, carrying her - just like the time he'd carried her out of that hunter's house. The situation was so different but it was still so much the same. She frowned and reached her hand to press it against her neck, against the twin hole piercing into her neck. Her breathing came easier but her eyes were still shut as she sorted her mind through her clouded head, which hurt like hell.
Scott: Scott didn't know why his feet halted when Shifano called for it, turning around to face the man, his jaw tightening. He didn't have to listen to this guy's excuses. Even though, when he thought about it, he understood it. He could remember a time, not too long ago, when he had nearly killed his own best friend because he had gotten too close at the wrong time, but that didn't stop him from saying, "It's a little late for that, isn't it? You've been at this long enough to know better, to know when you need to...feed or whatever. So just..." He pinched at the bridge of his nose, "Just stay away from her, alright? I don't...I don't have time for this bullshit." He was tired. He was bone tired and he just didn't want to deal with this anymore, putting his sister under his arm and starting to walk away again, since his sister chose to remain silent.
Charles: Scott turned around, which was enough in itself. His words cut through the atmosphere like hot blades but Charles knew they would come. He was tempted to explain how the scents, the textures, the tastes of different blood from humans to animals and back again was enough to rival the food he ate, but that seemed irrelevant.
Defiantly meeting Scott's eye as he ground out his response, Charles nodded and set his jaw. "Right," he responded curtly. Guilt curdled in his now full gut. "Right, like I said, sorry."
A few moment ticked past with the twins making their exit before Charles crossed the room and stood halfway through the door. "Wait!" he hissed at Scott's back.
Lucy: Lucy ducked her head down as she felt Scott hold her securely to his side and manage to walk beside him towards the door. She was still struggling, the memories were there. They were all as clear as day, and now she just needed to put them together because they didn't make sense at all. When she heard Charles' hiss, she winced, but turned back to peek at him carefully.
Scott: The pounding that was in Scott's head wasn't at all coming from the alcohol that he had consumed during the evening. He rolled his eyes, feeling the guilt that was radiating from Shifano - as it should be. How was he meant to explain this shit to Lucy? He was going to have to tell her about the supernatural, again. And it was going to be even more of a headache and he just honestly didn't want to deal with it. And - where the hell had those thoughts come from? That...that wasn't him. He shook his head, hearing Shifano calling out to them and his eyes flashed gold as he turned to Shifano this time, Lucy's gaze away from him and on Shifano. "You're already said your piece, haven't you? What the hell else do you have to say, huh?"
Charles : The pair seemed completely held off, guarded and locked away from Charles. A metaphorical barrier had come into place, so much so that the thought of stroking Lucy's shoulder to check her condition sickened him. He felt queasy, and very guilt.
"I.." Charles exhaled heavily though his nose, and pinched the bridge. "I'm sorry, which I know I said but it's literally like.. I d'know. This is unusual for me. To feed so soon after a full feed. Just keep an eye on her and keep.."
Stepping closer, Charles still maintained a safe distance and folded his arms.
"Can we keep this quiet?"
Lucy: Lucy narrowed her eyes to stare at Charles, at the blood that still stained his shirt and the light shade of red that surrounded his lips. She stared at him for such a long time until finally the word she was looking for came to mind. Vampire. Lucy frowned and pressed her hand against the wound further, glad it had stopped bleeding. Only when she'd thought Beacon Hills had had enough of Mystical creatures. Lucy pursed her lips tightly as she kept her newfound information to herself and looked up at Scott, trying to gauge his answer.
Scott: Scott breathed heavily. Shifano had said that three times now, was it, that he was sorry? Scott was growing tired of it. And he heard his request and tightened his hold on his sister. "Fine, whatever. Can't promise you that I won't tell some people about this, so they know to be weary of you, but it's not like I'm going to tell the general public. Guess you'll just have to live in fear about who I choose to tell and who I don't." And, with that, Scott grew tired of listening to Shifano. He didn't have to care about the man's reputation. He didn't have to care about much of anything other than getting his sister home.
Charles : The tone of Scott's voice was starting to grate on Charles' nerves, but he kept his cool and nodded all the same. "Fair enough. Have your way."
Turning on his heel, the heat started in his gut and flared up, forcing itself out through his nostrils in a rush. It wasn't that he didn't under stand the wolf's concern, but more that Scott failed to fully comprehend him.
Slamming his door, Charles leaned against it and ground the heels of his palms into his eyes sockets. Shit. Shiiit.
Setting his stance once more, the vampire hauled a breath through his nose and steadied himself.
