Jen stared at the screen on her phone, feeling like she might throw up. Her nerves were eating her from the inside out and she did not like it one bit. She was surprised that Lily was even agreeing to meet her. She had a million things she wanted to say but she wasn’t sure she could put them all into words. She was upset, the breakup caught her off guard and upset her but she realized that her own response had also caught Lily off guard and upset her so she owed the older girl an explanation and she was hoping she would be able to get through it. Jen shook her head, leaving her thoughts for a moment as she reached for her keys. She took them and headed downstairs and out the front door locking it behind her. She debated on whether she should walk or drive and decided to walk. Maybe it would clear her head. She arrived at the park a few minutes later and took a seat at the swings, waiting.
Jen knew Lily would be over soon and she took a look around her house, making sure everything was perfect. She smiled softly to herself as Nick trotted up. She bent down and straightened his bow tie, making sure the note was firmly attached. “You ready for this? You’re my main dude here, I’m counting on you.” She told him softly, scratching his ears. He barked happily before sitting and looking up at her with his big puppy eyes. She smiled and stood once more and crossed to the front door, opening it and taping her sign to the front door. “Inside is a treasure hunt of sorts. You will follow a series of clues throughout the house and eventually end up to me. Nick will greet you with your first clue and he will be your guide. (Hopefully he remembers that and doesn’t run off.) I’ll see you at the end.” Jen closed the door before motioning for Nick to stay. They had practiced this a million times and she had taken him through the entire course so hopefully it would go to plan. She backed away slowly, making sure he would stay and sure enough, he sat there dutifully. She turned and made her way to the back porch, waiting for her surprise to unfold.
Wiping the sleep from his eyes James turned over in his bunk. A sleeping Lily Evans lay peacefully beside him, green eyes closed and auburn hair littering their shared pillow. The glowing sun was not yet present in the sky surrounding Hogwarts castle, and James was thankful for the earliness, as it allowed him more time to just exist with Lily Evans so near by. Wrapping a strong arm around her, he cuddled close, the same way they had fallen asleep the night before. His entire bed smelled of her rose perfume and James practically drank in the sent, inhaling deeper than he usually did.
Although the details from the night before were quite fuzzy, James could pick out the chain of events in his groggy mind. He had stumbled upon a group of people holding a party in the Room of Requirement, there had been drinking games and then spin the bottle. James had kissed several girls, not including Lily, and it had made her actually turn color with jealousy. Lovingly he had explained to Lily that he only had eyes for her, that he did not plan on leaving her side unless she turned him away -and to his surprise she did quite the opposite an asked him to stay. They had walked through the castle, from the Room of Requirement and into the grounds to get some fresh air. James knew a thing or two about dealing with drunks and how to avoid a terrible hangover the following day, and fresh air was the first step. Then James had tried to separate himself from Lily and put her to sleep in her own bed, but they had ended up curled up into each others arms in James' bed.
Gently and with shaking fingers James brushed Lily's red hair to reveal her sweet face. For a few moments he watched her breathe as she slept in his arms. leaning down to kiss the stark porcelain skin of Lily's forehead, James thought of how greatfull he was for the sleeping angel beside him. "Good Morning Beautiful." He whispered softly.
Completely satisfied with himself and his comrades, James left the bustling Great Hall. He was introspective as he headed to have a few moments to himself in the common room before it too was crowded with angry Gryffindors who wanted his hide. This was the first successfully prank pulled off this year and James was feeling the elation fill his body as he reached the portrait hole. He politely mumbled the password to The Fat Lady before claiming inside to the empty common room. It was a sight for sore eyes, finally he would have a moment to himself without anyone interogating him about the recent prank and ongoing aftermath. Instantly, he fell into a soft maroon armchair. Out of his peripheral vision James spotted a flash red hair. Lily Evans. His heart stopped, his blood drained from his face, and his skin went cold.
Staying in hotels all summer was not Mary's plan. She was supposed to spend it touring America with her Uncle and she could of still gone to America but, honestly, she had no will to. So, she spent most of her summer locked in a hotel room, reading and feeling sorry for herself but Mary has decided it's time to get out of that mind set so she visited Spain and now she is back. Once back from visiting a foreign country one realizes how lucky they are to be able to communicate with everyone around them. Also, from all this traveling alone, she has realized how much she has missed her friends and that is why she is standing outside the door of the one and only Lily Evans.
Mary and Lily have always gotten along well, ever since her first year they have been friends. She was one of the first people to ever meet at Hogwarts. Now, she is not going to be joining her on the train ride in the next year and that thought is horrifying. Mary has decided to make the most out of the time that they have together. Knocking on Lily's door, Mary just hopes that Lily won't tell her to leave, or faint, or just that Lily opens the door, in general, and it's not her sister or parents who find Mary standing there like a lost puppy. As the door swung open Mary bite her lip and said softly "Hey."
NOTES: So, song titles as para titles, yes. I somehow didn't think the song I was listening to was a good titles though. "Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking off her clothes" didn't seem suitable for some reason:P
EMMA VANITY
Emma had had a bad day. Well, that was an understatement. She'd had a horrible day, a horrible week. She could feel herself on the edge of depression and insanity, the wind blowing her daring to jump - or be pushed off. The only permanent escape from this harsh reality of feels was one she didn't like to think about, not strong enough to do it while knowing how disappointed her parents would be. So she settled on a temporary escape, alcohol, drugs, starvation and acting out. But acting out had been what got her into this mess. It had gave her a black eye and a swollen cheek and a bruised lip. It had also got her allowing Lily Evans to help.
Now she knew that was stupid beyond belief, if she was caught with a mudblood she could kiss her friends goodbye - but she wouldn't be caught, she just wouldn't. Couldn't. It wasn't like she was friends with her or even liked her. But Emma needed some company right now, company that didn't know about her life, or her family. Didn't know anything about her, because that gave her leverage to pretend. To pretend just for a few minutes that the smile was real, that she was as happy as anyone else at Hogwarts. That's all Emma needed right now.
So with the happy thought that Bella had decided to go see the Thestrals, Rod had disappeared, Regulus was still nowhere to be found, nor Cissy or Andy and the rest of the Slytherin guys had sneaked out of Hogwarts to see who could get wasted the fasted (to what Emma had declined after being asked, just in case her family were still in Hogsmeade) she walked out of the Slytherin common room and looked around the dungeons, waiting for the mudblood company that was absolutely forbidden.
