poise and rationality | nick & annie | flashback
The dress had been custom tailored by a woman from a shop nearby and the measurements were absolutely incredible as the bodice hugged her slim frame while accentuated her curves to the modest degree she could in the time-period. The skirt flared out at her hips and created the instant appeal of a tight tummy while appearing to be of royal status with her entire body nearly pushing up at the top of the hemline where she was met with lace. The long sleeves were made of a light fabric that were see-through as she was beginning to push past boundaries set by her own time and creating her own standards as opposed to sticking to what was acceptable at the time. It was in fact a fairy-tale type wedding, where complete strangers showed up to honor the bride-to-be from far off communities knowing that the engagement was something that had been talked about for ages.
It was all fantasy as the pure as snow-white gown was slipped into on the day that everything was supposed to be perfect. Antonia couldn’t believe the reflection she saw in the mirror as she ran her hands over the material of the dress one last time in it’s most innocent form. Today was supposed to be a day of celebration, not one of mourn, but it seemed that Annie and Nick wouldn’t be so lucky. As she readied herself to walk down to see Nick and become his lawfully wedded wife, she could only wonder where their lovely flower girl could have gotten off to. She was only out that very day to pick some fresh flowers for the bouquet, but, when she hadn’t returned in time for the procession to begin, a worrying sinking feeling filled Annie, and she just wasn’t sure what to do. Surely, they couldn’t have a wedding without the entire family present, and Victoria had become such an impact on both of their lives that Annie was’t going to continue without her. The waiting became nearly unbearable though and as Annie sat alone in her room, she only grew more concerned with each passing second that no one came in to tell her that Victoria had arrived.
