The First Kiss From My Last Love ⊰Seunghyun ▪ Hyungwon⊱
He felt sick.
For an immortal being like himself, there were only a few options as to why he might feel unwell. It wasn’t that he hadn’t ‘eaten’; he had. It wasn’t that he’d been in the sunlight for too long; he’d been primping the entire day and hadn’t stepped foot outside his quarters. He was fairly certain the cause was not magical. A curse would certainly manifest in a more violent manner than how he felt, which was an odd sort of uncomfortableness that he just couldn’t place.
He stared at himself in his dressing mirror’s reflection. He was put together perfectly, even by his own standards. Not a hair was out of place, not a wrinkle in his suit. He’d applied his most expensive cologne, wore his finest cufflinks and watch. All the right rings were on the right fingers and all of his plans were in place. He’d had time to prepare and he had; intricately. The night would go perfectly.
His thoughts kept returning to Hyungwon as he waited, as they had all day, all week. Wondering if he was excited, wondering if he’d built up the date so much in his mind over the past few months that he’d end up disappointed, wondering if maybe he was nervous.
Seunghyun blinked, a sudden realization coming over him. Racing thoughts, restlessness, agitation, an odd pit in his stomach...he was nervous. The vampire smiled wanly, taking a deep calming breath. Of course, the sensation now seemed like an old friend, a welcome reminder from his human side. It had been so long since he’d felt this way. Since he’d cared enough about something or someone to worry about the outcome of things. When it came to Hyungwon, Seunghyun cared down to the most minute detail.
The clock chimed seven and Seunghyun turned on his heel and walked to the door. He didn’t have to wait a moment longer. Hyungwon had waited patiently for him, and now he could devote all of his time to making sure the boy learned just how truly special he was. The professor slipped into the hallway and around the corner to where Hyungwon’s new living quarters were. He rapped on the door as the clock tower signaled for the last time. Not late, not early; perfectly prompt.
When Hyungwon opened the door, Seunghyun couldn’t withhold a smile. As much as he wanted to look composed and refined, someone truly dignified and impressive; he couldn’t hide it. He was too happy and too excited to earn Hyungwon’s favor. “You look ravishing, Hyungwonnie,” Seunghyun greeted, his tone soft and suave. The vampire’s eyes traveled from Hyungwon’s face down his body to his feet and then back up to lock his gaze, a mysterious glint in his eyes.
He knelt down in front of Hyungwon, knowing he must be at least confusing the boy, if not startling him. He reached forward, large, strong hands gently removing the shoes from Hyungwon’s feet so that he was barefoot. “You won’t need these...not where we’re going,” the professor said teasingly as he wiggled his own bare toes and then extended his elbow towards Hyungwon to escort him from the castle.
