     NEREIDA WRAPS HER ARMS around her wife’s neck, her weight shifting onto Lyra’s chest. Slow mornings are sweet. Nereida thinks they’re even sweeter when she has responsibilities to put off.

         “I know we’re supposed to meet up with Triton and Proteus, but what if we just... don’t. I’m too sleepy. Aren’t you? I’m sure they’d understand.”

Her rambles, as crazed as they are, are kept to a quiet volume and directed at the space above Gale Reilly’s forehead. Being in the presence of beings like him makes beings like her, usually so detached and unfathomable, feel unshakably nervous.

This was the woman Ladyette had told her about, right? The one who knew Fleur - the literal Moon. A woman of refined tastes, a being of otherness that might be able to guide her in her misdirection. Ladyette, someone Kodi doesn’t know all too well herself, seemed trustworthy enough. What could possibly happen? Except for her making an ass out of herself in front of a big icon in the fashion industry.

“Noemi... Flor.... Florence? Flores?” Nothing like a botched name to really start things out right, “I- I was told I could see you about something. By a friend?”
