“I just don’t come down here often,” she said with a small grin. “Work piles up like you wouldn’t believe and keeps me locked away in the cabin.” She nodded slightly. “He’s been rather busy with his own work. I’ll try to actually introduce you.”

The kid nodded, "Oh, no, trust me, Commander, I completely understand." He smiled, "I'm surprised you prefer to pick up the Lord of the Rings series, it's a much bigger book series than the Star Trek books." Cornel chuckled lightly only to shake his head, "No need to go out of the way for me, Ma'am... Commander..."

Purgatory's music was still going strong, as it always did. Shepard was waiting outside, leaning against the wall, one foot up slightly, arms crossed over her chest. She had changed out of her uniform to make herself a little less intimidating to the young woman she was about to meet up with. She had her usual black sweater with N7 on the right side of her chest, and the classic red and white stripe down the arm, but that was the only thing identifying her as military right now.

She yawned and glanced at the time. She still had a few more minutes before Karmen was off for the day. Why she had come so early, she didn't know. She was a little nervous about this. The looks the woman had been giving her said that she was probably a little more interested in the Commander than she was really letting on. It had been a long while since Shepard had been with anyone. A couple of years, actually. The main reason was because she had been dead, but still.

She was a little rusty with this concept. She would just have to view it as two people who wanted to be friends for now. If it happened, well, then it would happen. But she would simply focus on getting to know this young bartender before she let anything else happen.
